Morph transition for Storyline, the crossover you never knew you needed.

The morph transition from PowerPoint can be a great way to make your presentations more dynamic, but unfortunately this functionality isn't available in Articulate Storyline.
I've tried countless times to mimic this effect in Storyline, but with mediocre results. So, in this video I walk you through how I combined both PowerPoint and Storyline to achieve the desired morph effect.

I've been following this tutorial on a project I've been working on today. Thank you for producing it! To save some time you can just hide the slides in PowerPoint you don't want exported to video. Saves some time cut and pasting slides into a new PowerPoint deck each time 🙂

Fabulous, Emma! I've created a similar function for some projects but I haven't thought about the Morph transition. Kudos. My trick is to highlight the slides in the PPTX, right click and 'Hide' the slides I don't want to export to an MP4. This will save you some time when creating the MP4s, versus copying to a new 'temp' pptx to export from. You are amazingly talented. Thank you for sharing and inspiring.

Thanks for sharing Emma, it's always amazing to see what can be done with Storyline (and not to mention PPT)

Hi Emma! Trying to recreate this design style on Storyline and great to know it can be done on PPT! I’m new to ID and struggling to learn and master Adobe platforms to create designs. I am good with content but always stressed myself with designs. This has helped! Thanks for sharing!

Thanks miss Emma, you really help me in my school project, i have noted this method can be used in a single attempt. so if it is possible, can storyline make a reverse clip when I'm currently on 2nd questions decide to go back to the 1st questions and can be repeated

I had some CPD time this afternoon and tried this. Haven't got the design background to make nice images but I made images morph and appear. To perfect it I made sure the first slide had no transition on otherwise it would fade in. One question though. How does this effect the file size and use on a mobile

Yes the first slide needs to be static to get the best effect :) In terms of file size, because this interaction is video based I wouldn't recommend making the activity / interaction too long. (1 - 2 minutes of video maximum) This shouldn't then increase your file size too much and therefore there should be no issue playing on a mobile device. It's one of those interactions that would be great maybe once or twice in your eLearning's, but would definitely not be suitable for every single activity!
