It is impossible to encapsulate the fascinating beauty of Morocco in just a short video, but this mere token will give you an idea. This particular trip was taken in 2012, and took me to Marrakech and surrounding areas. I fear the devastating earthquake of September 2023 destroyed most of the Berber villages perched on the flanks of the Atlas Mountains, taking away not only many people's home, but also a whole aspect of Morocco's cultural heritage.
The Ben Youssef Madrasa, built in the 14th-16th centuries, is a jewel in itself. Essaouira, the ancient merchant port on Morocco's Atlantic coast, is a stunning place that seems to be frozen in time.
Jnane Tihihit, a guest farm at the foot of the Atlas Mountains, is the perfect place to enjoy the Moroccan country side, and a great base for exploring the surrounding sights.
After the earthquake, one of the best things we can do for the Moroccan people is to visit their country. Please consider giving to the Red Cross or other charitable organization to help Morocco.
