Morocco is NOT What we Expected | Our True First Impressions
Welcome to Morocco! If you watched our last video you’ll know that, for a whole host of reasons, we were slightly apprehensive about starting our Moroccan roadtrip.
Well we’re pleased to report that vanlife in Morocco so far is not at all what we expected it to be. Sure it’s a very different culture and there’s lots of stuff we’re not sure about and need to get used, but overall we’re having an amazing start to our travels here.
This week we slowly work our way down the coastline, starting in the beautiful town of Asilah. The route we take sees us journey down through Rabat, Mohammedia, Casablanca, Oualidia and finally onto Safi.
One of the highlights was checking out the largest mosque in Africa, Hassan II Casablanca.
There’s some incredible park ups along the way and we have the best time getting involved in life inside the famous Moroccan medinas. One of the things we were looking forward to the most about this trip is the food and it does not disappoint.
So join us as we find our feet in Morocco, get our taste buds around some amazing new grub and soak up some well overdue sunshine.
Catch you in the comments,
Sarah, James & Ady

8:25 hahahahaha that bread is called "Msemen", it may also be called "Rghayf" it's a traditional Moroccan bread that's eaten on breakfast or as a snack, you can find it all across the country and sometimes it comes stuffed with fat and spices with an orange look to it, you should definitely try it, as for that white plain one i recommend ordering it with some toppings like nutella or cheese, btw that bread is also used to make another traditional dish called "Rafisa", enjoy guys❤ 17:00 what also makes that mosque special is because it was entirely built by the Moroccan people themselves, every household in the whole country donated a portion of money used to build this magnificent place of worship, so Moroccans consider it their own❤

We love msemen! So delicious. We’ve eaten loads of it since, it tastes so good fresh off the griddle. They mentioned that about the mosque on the tour we did, it’s an amazing achievement and so great that people feel that way about it. ❤️🇲🇦

the hustle is mainly in Marrakech and Fez, so be careful of that when you go there and be strict with the hustlers. One great tip would be to avoid eye contact and conversing with them. The moment they come to you and you're not interested say no and leave, if you do that they will stop. Hope you enjoy your stay!
