After college, me and my bestfriend moved to Japan for a job. We decided to stay. It’s been more than a decade now, we’re married, living a simple life in a neighborhood much like this in this video. Our town is full of hills and it’s hard to cycle up and down, but the views are breathtaking. I love our simple life here. Quiet, peaceful, polite, clean, efficient and convenient. What more can you ask for?

He never knew why he took the night shift - perhaps it was the night owl in him. After clocking out at five in the morning, he saw the sun beginning to rise. The corner store on his block served great coffee and made a very delicious breakfast sandwich. As he sipped on the coffee and took a bite out of his sandwich, he saw the rays of the sun spread across the landscape making for a beautiful morning.

I've lived in Japan for some years and I can tell you, many places similar to this exist. So much so that I wouldn't be surprised if this was a photo with an anime filter and some minor alterations (the convenience store brand doesn't exist afaik). Spend a couple weeks in Japan, walk around quiet neighborhoods a bit and you'll see it too!

My dream is to ride a bicycle down the hill while listening to this music with my headphones🎧

This has to be a drawing of an actual neighborhood. Every little detail is a perfect replica of what i used to see while living in Japan. The type of brick, the bush behind the rails, the type of gate, the pop out windows, the car cover, like everything. I love this. I have it full screen on one monitor to feel like I'm looking out the window.

I actually had a morning walk like this. My first full day after arriving in Tokyo- I had nothing booked for that day, so I thought I'd walk around, and ended up lost! It was a good kind of lost, though, because it looked just like this.

Here is a checklist to keep your productivity up for anyone trying to study while listening to this. - A bottle of water, at least one liter. Your brain works best while hydrated. (you may also replace this with tea, coffee, or drink of choice. Just make sure the amount is sufficient.) -A charger for your device. You never know when you could run out of battery, so keep it plugged in. -Headphones. You will appreciate not having to hear the background noise in your house. -A cozy nook. This is a great playlist to help you set it up. For it, you will need a couch, bed, or floor. Also add pillows, blankets, and somewhere to put food or drink. OPTIONAL: -A lovely, filling snack. You don't want to run out of energy. -Candles. The warm light will help you focus. If you don't have candles, then put several light sources around the room. Include string lights. Remember to walk around every once in awhile :D Thank you!

In case you were curious, the kanji on the paper lantern is "繁栄", (Hanei), which roughly translates to prosperity, thriving, flourishing etc. I hope whover reading attains their "Hanei"!

I moved to England for grad school to a city that is directly out of Harry Potter (literally, they filmed it here! haha). It was terrifying moving so far away on my own, but it’s a beautiful city with wonderful people, and every morning I make coffee, pop this in my headphones, and walk to the old observatory to watch the sunrise over the castle. The hills and flowers in this wallpaper remind me of it.

I've been studying Japanese for 2 years now and I JUST found this video. This playlist makes me feel inspired and feel like I'm already Living in Japan. It's so happy sounding but also sad at the same time, it's really good is where i'm getting at lol. in a few days I'm flying to Japan for the first time in over 3 years and I can't contain my excitement. I will be staying for a year as per my study abroad program. I can't wait to see my dad and listen to the cicadas and I'm going to get so sick of how hot and humid it is.
