I been to this morning market 5 years ago. Maybe you should do one on the night market with that little girl as I never been to that. Be interested to see the difference.

7:46 When Amy asked her if she really didn't want one, she declined, as she has a thought of not wanting to burden Amy with the extra expense. 7:51 However, you can tell that she desires the pastry so much that her mouth is watering... what an angel.

The little angel stole this episode definitely. Welcoming, confident and thoughtful to express her own opinions on food. My heart just melted. Wish her all the best!
That kid is too freaking cute! Best co-hostess ever!
That girl was too adorable! And fearless
The kid should get a gig as a tour guide. She certainly has the aptitude for it. That youtiao was doing its best impression of a French baguette, real lady pleaser. Lol
I would like to thank the puppy and the brother for gifting us the opportunity to see such a adorable angel, she was so lovely.

FYI, since the girl was talking about her uncle manning a stall, chances are it's actually her cousin, not brother. A lot of Chinese people use a sibling title to refer to their cousins without the 表 or 堂 prefix which makes the word into cousin, especially after only children has been the norm (and in many ways still is) for so many years. I think the prefix is also getting less popular because people don't see it necessary anymore to distinguish between cousins who share a family name vs. those who do not, which is what those prefixes are. A lot of people grew up addressing their cousins as Older Sister/Brother or as [name] Older Sister/Brother. Many kids don't even know what type of cousin a given cousin is. So in this situation, my guess is that the 哥 (older brother) she talks about is actually her 表哥 (older male cousin who does not share a name), since the term she used for her uncle is the word for the husband of her mother's eldest sister. Normally if someone mentions their sibling and you care about whether it's a sibling or cousin, you would ask if they're a bio sibling, and they will specify if it's their actual sibling or an aunt or uncle's child.
As I get older, morning markets actually make a lot more sense than night markets 😂

@@fatdoi003 it's a bit complicated but basically, if you rise and go to bed based on natural circadian rhythm you might naturally wake up at that time. This is because entire China uses Beijing time (to avoid communication issues) when in reality all the other cities on that longitude might be using different zones. Changchun using Beijing time is like America Midwest using New York time. If we time zone it correctly, it is at the same time as the 2 Koreas and Philippines Manila
omg! the little girl is so sweet! maybe she can lead amy to the night market, wish to see her again! she definitely got bright future as food vlogger.

Amy is such a gem. Unpretentious, open-minded, adventurous, friendly, not judgmental and condescending at all , a big contrast to a lot of expats. Derk is so lucky to have you! Thanks for the amazing videos
I noticed that your Chinese subtitle is excellent. It’s authentic and accurate, with the right use of local dialect such as “浇头” for the noodle topping. As someone born in Beijing, grew up in the States and worked as a professional interpreter, I am impressed.

Traveling to China seems like a dream come true for any lover of food. I can't eat peanuts or their oil, so it could be challenging, but if nothing else, the produce looks AMAZING (and I could happily live off of fruit, vegetables, wheat gluten, noodles, chili oil, garlic, ginger, and rice for a long, long time). Enjoy the peanutty goodness and street food, for those of us who can't! 💜
Awww that lassie is adorable and sweet ~ smart kid ! your contents never disappoints , keep up with the good work👍🏻❤️❤️ greetings from Hong Kong 🇨🇳🇭🇰
Great selection of breakfast, great interaction with the market’s young ambassador and great low prices! :D
That little girl is so endearing and such a brilliant tour guide! Would love to see a whole vlog with her, she's a natural youtuber!
That young girl was the sweetest. Oh my goodness 💟
That morning market looks so cool!!! The food seems amazing but more importantly, the people there were so nice! that little angel girl was literally the cherry on the cake! Nice to see Derk too, bringing his concise yet highly professional remark as our Germany sausage connoisseur: "approved" LOL Thanks for another amazing video!!
The little girl is an angel ❤

it's easy to believe when you said the foods are delicious, it's always the long queue and how busy are the vendors that gives it away. And the little girl is a natural, take her in as your apprentice🤣

Amy‘s Chinese is so good now and it gets better and better. just look how she communicate smoothly with the locals.💯
This episode is so sweet! Amy brought Changchun red sausage to her German boyfriend! After overwhelmingly peppery dumplings, clinging to throat octopus, metallic p fish sashimi, and chopsticks cut out of flat sheet metal, Amy left Korean food room.
that lil girl is so precious🥹
I miss all the good food in China, especially breakfast that small vendors sell in the morning.
I had that big youtiao before in BJ 20 years ago on my 1st trip to china, 4 of us on freezing December morning at a small hutong eatery near BJ university we had 2 huge youtiao and 2 huge youbing and 5 bowls of soybean milk, I remember it cost 38 rmb, amazing the prices still about the same today.
OH My GAWD!!! Those blueberries are huge!!! The ones we get here are so tiny and they come in these small containers and cost way too much. Those strawberries look so good too. Dammit gave me a craving now.
Blondie Amy is deep into Chinese culture, I rediscover things that I didn't know before by watching your videos.
What an interesting market. That young girl was so bright and confident ! I think Derk at the end was a bit distrustful of that sausage and wanted you to try it first.

I could taste the tofu brain and youtiao through the screen! I grew up in Dongbei and now reside in Sydney. Your video surely brought back a lot of memories. Thank you, Amy!💖
Dongbei is known for their sausages (or 红肠) because of the Russian/Lithuanian/Polish influence it received back in the past, so yes it would taste like a kielbasa

That Youtiao looks so satisfying! Here in Brisbane, I can only find Youtiao in the frozen food section of the Asian supermarket .
Oh, that little girl you met in the market is very pretty and lovely 😊

Thanks for sharing your wonderful Dongbei Morning Market experience with us - the little girl is super cute and heartwarming!🥰 The giant youtiao and the berries look amazing!🤩

Amy, always love your food adventure ❤ and this one is definitely up to a new level with such an angel-like girl❤ Also your guide is so persuasive 😂 I want to visit the morning market during my next trip back to China.
The best time to have an early breakfast. Wow! Every food are huge, especially the youtiao (油條) (in Hong Kong, we also called it, 油炸鬼), I think I could have it bit by bit.
Loved this episode and seeing Derk try some foods too! Would also love to see a video of the night market ☺️
Thanks so much for bringing us all these awesome videos.
Your videos are always really enjoyable and informative but this has to be one of my favourites. I love your enthusiasm! 😊
I loved this video. The little girl should be your cohost! Always nice to hear from Derk too.

Northeastern people in China are so kind. It is so lively living in DongBei. The food there is absolutely delicious.
Damn. I'm eating my meager breakfast while seeing this and the foods you have there are so somuch better.
Your content is so awesome to watch :D. I am excited for my new adventure in China.

I can feel the cool morning from your video, all fantastic food and warm hearted people! Great market, lovely life! I love this kind of market!
Everything looked so good! I wanna see you go back to the night market!
So glad to see you had a good time at the market.
Yeah, dongbei is few places in China where they sell youtiao by weight rather than piece.... You burn a lot of calories in the cold so us people from dongbei eat a lot.
this little girl is so sweet and absolutely adorable. Definitely adding a lot of fun to this clip.
such a cute girl!
Amy, always managed to find various ways to make me jealous!!! I wanna try all the foods you had
