We in Michigan always had very good natural reproduction, and the plants were a needed addition to make it a great fishery. If one or the other is removed or reduced from the equation, the fishing suffers. Depending on natural reproduction can big a huge gamble, and shouldn’t be counted on as Mother Nature can throw a huge wrench in it with flooding and very cold winter temperatures.

Great information captains! I know the salmon candy blue stud is a rock star for me but I still haven't landed a fish on the spin doctor version. I wonder if certain colors work better on certain designs. I sure love my salmon candy flashers and use them in Ludingtons warm water, but certain patterns like the two face uv I hammer kings on both spindoctor or paddle.

I only have luck on bechold big paddles and haven't caught a fish on a dreamweaver 11" or salmon candy fish blade yet, but this year was great for spoon action on the michigan side so my time with them in the water is limited.
