I always thought it would be cool if The Office had like a cutscene of Dwight and Toby walking around Steamtown; considering they both had hobbies that included railroading of some sort.

Miss these days, been a volunteer there for awhile. Pieces are all moved all around the yard today. Some new pieces on ground now as well. An old Ontario and western switcher, a former SW 1 ACL No 1903, lots to see Yes the Baldwin is the only thing running right now. 3713 is repairs are being contracted out the new cab and wheels have been returned. Got cab rides in both 2317 and 3254. The park can only do so much with donations and the little money the government gives them. But the stories and the history are still there and a lot of knowledgeable people.

Used to go to steamtown all the time when I was little. I got cab rides in both 2317 and 3254, got to blow 2317's whistle, and one of the old engineers Bob Paterson would always let me up in the diesels, though he has sadly passed away. Excited to see 3713 run again!

That place is sad and pathetic. The current superintendent is a joke. This is the problem when the government runs something. It's really sad. She chased all the volunteers away which were the only people making an effort to keep static displays looking decent. You see all these private owned tourist roads restoring steam all over. Steamtown has been working on B&M 3713 for 25 years. It's not even close to ever running and probably never will. NPS needs to spin the shop and rail operations off to someone who will put effort in. NPS can clean the tolites and mow the grass. They don't belong in this business

Soon enough, Boston and Mains 3713 and Canadian National 3377 will roll into the pages of Steamtown’s history as the most recent steamers to operate there. Current holder of said title is BLW 26. (All of this isn’t official btw, just my own little way of thinking) P.S. Before you all ask, yes, 3377 is being restored to replace 3254. Basically, the two are switching places in terms of parts donor and operating star.
