It’s normal for Morissette straining but her tone and resonance (even in strained notes) are undeniably what make her stand out. She’s not trained, tho’, but still improving.

She's not straining and straining is not normal. Straining is a serious thing and it causes extreme discomfort and pain. She has tension but it's not excessive.
