“केही समयपछि परमेश्वरले अब्राहामको ठूलो जाँच गर्नुभयो, र तिनलाई भन्नुभयो, “ए अब्राहाम।” तिनले भने, “म यहीँ छु।” उहाँले भन्नुभयो, “तेरो छोरो, अर्थात् तैंले माया गरेको तेरो एउटै छोरो इसहाकलाई लिएर मोरीयाहको देशमा गई मैले तँलाई देखाएको डाँड़ामा त्यसलाई होमबलि गर्।” अब्राहाम बिहानै उठेर गधामा काठी कसे, र आफ्ना कमाराहरूमध्येका दुई जना र छोरो इसहाकलाई साथमा लिए, र होमबलिको निम्ति दाउरा चिरेर परमेश्वरले तिनलाई भन्नुभएको त्यस ठाउँमा हिँड़े। तेस्रो दिन अब्राहामले हेर्दा टाढ़ामा त्यो ठाउँ देखे। तब अब्राहामले आफ्ना कमाराहरूलाई भने, “तिमीहरू यहीँ गधासँग बस। म र यो केटो ऊ परसम्म गएर पूजा गरी तिमीहरूकहाँ फर्केर आउनेछौं।” उत्पत्ति 22:1-5
‘शरीर र शैतानको पापमय प्रलोभनको अभावले गर्दा स्वर्गमा आराधना गर्न सजिलो हुनेछ तर पृथ्वीमा आराधना गर्न बलिदान चाहिन्छ। जीवित आराधना भनेको आराधकले आफैलाई परमेश्वरको वेदीमा जीवित बलिदान हुन अर्पण गरेको फल स्वरूप पोखिएको भेटी हो। पृथ्वीमा परिभाषैले आराधना बलिदान हो। जहाँ बलिदान छैन त्यहाँ आराधना छैन। जीउँदो बलि हुनको निम्ति मोरियाह पर्वतमा स्वागत छ।’
