I'd say Rick had it a tad easier. He didn't have to put Lori down, never saw her as a walker, and Carl lived til 16 at least. Rick sure, has suffered, but he also had people around him during those moments. Maggie, Glenn, T-dog, Carol, Hershel, ect. He's had his group to help balance him. Morgan had no one other than his son when Jenny turned and no one at all when Duane turned. If Rick had been on his own I imagine he would be even more ruthless than Season5.

Man it goes to show you in a way Carl did Rick a favor by doing it himself cause he knew he couldn’t do it real painful for any father
@pamjarvis2318
11 ай бұрын
Carl had already knew how it would affect his Dad from he having to kill his own Mom Lori. Carl was matured enough to know what must be done to keep his Dad's devastation from crippling doubling emotionally over his death by taking himself out. It would had ultimately fully destroyed Rick totally down mentally and emotionally if he was one to kill Carl. Carl was strongly determined protecting his Dad from being fully destroyed of having to kill his own son by killing himself to very end. Carl was admirable matured intelligent young teen who had maturity and actions of older age person to help his Dad in surviving his own death emotionally and mentally by directly taking last action himself instead of his own Dad who would had been totally destroyed afterwards to point of not wanting going on living despite Micholle and Judith. This is biggest difference between Morgan and Rick because Carl was able to take himself out in protecting his Dad from doing it awhile Morgan had no choice but to kill his own son. Both had devastation of losing their sons awhile Morgan is only Dad who had been forced to devastating live with killing his own son after what had happened to his wife. Morgan and Rick has lived in similar yet different parallel life pathway experiences that's makes them be understandable similar to each other within Walking Dead.

@@ClashedPR I like how they did this episode. They took Morgan chaining him up from the comics but molded it around how they did Morgan's character differently as a whole in the show. Morgan knew that he was dead and he didn't put him down, but was too traumatized to remember that he chained him up in the house he fails to shoot Jenny after Rick gives him the rifle. And Morgan even keeps seeing walkers as Jenny when looking through that rifle scope. He overcomes that just to find Duane chained up and he's faced with the same situation Duane was in. Only this time he's able to protect Mo, with the rifle that Rick intended for him to use on his wife 10 years ago. Very well done episode, especially for fans of Morgan. Hope people don't gloss over it because of the show overall.

Fact: In the comics, Morgan's character is far less developed than it is in the Show and Morgan doesn't have the strength to kill his zombified son, so he just shoots the chains to let him free.
