Sir, I've long respected and admired you; because, I know that had I suffered the slightest fraction of what you endured, I don't know that this redhead would just get into "good trouble". My respect and admiration has just grown 10 fold or more. May you truly rest peacefully with Our Father God, who knows no color except for the color & content of our souls. He certainly knows you've earned it. I know you've earned it. You're an iconic figure, not just to be mentioned in February during Black History month but in the tapestry of our UNITED AMERICAN history. Rest in Peace, sir.

Wow . That means that movements (plural) all over the world must work together as John requested in his last words. Good people, pious people and God fearing/loving people now will try to support each other, if they are seriously faith based, not fear or atheism based, because God never designated Himself as a color, or even as belonging to a Jewish, or Hindu, or Christian or Muslim or any other group with a name or doctrine of rituals.

Every American should learn from this mans life. To have the courage, fortitude and perseverance to stand for what is right, what is just and what is true in the face of the power of fear, violence and hate aligned against you is a testament to his courage. He made us better but his work is a work in process and now is the time to finish this work and complete the promises of the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution for each and every person.

And to announce his refusal in such a rude and dismissive tone was ugly. To not forget or overlook a stupid spat that trump may have had 3 years ago? With a man who has most surely gone to heaven? To refuse to act as most humans due, if only out of courtesy. Donald j trump is a little little man. His "stature" decreases with every sentence he utters. It takes humility to admit that during lifetime there are issues that have distanced us from others, but that at the moment of death these distances disappear and we show respect not for the issues, but for the integrity of the man/woman who persued them with dedication. Trump lacks both humility and respect, and for that reason he was unable to go beyond a Tweet which had not even been checked for grammar errors. Despicable.

We’re going to be at 5 people pretty soon. And we could be at just 1 or 2 people over the next short period of time” February 28th - “This is the democrats new hoax” March 6th - “It’s going to go away, hopefully at the end of the month” March 11th - “We’re more prepared to fight the virus than any other country. The virus doesn’t stand a chance against us” March 13th - “I don’t take responsibility at all” March 16th - “I rate my handling of the outbreak as a 10 out of 10” March 24th - “We never shut the country down for flu” April 10th - “I looks as though we’ll only have 60,000 deaths, which is substantially lower than what any of the scientists thought” April 16th - “We are past the peak” April 23rd - “We have one of the lowest mortality rates in the world” April 23rd - “Suppose we hit the body with a tremendous, whether it’s ultraviolet or just very powerful light. Supposing you brought light inside the body, which you can do either through the skin or in some way” April 24th - “Disinfectant knocks it out in 1 minute. Can we use that? By injecting it inside the body?” April 25th - “There might not be a 2nd wave once we reopen. It might not come back at all” May 3rd - “We’re going to lose anywhere from 75,000 to 100,000 people” May 5th - “With or without a vaccine, it’s going to pass” May 13th - “If we did less testing, we would have less cases. So in a way, by doing all of this testing it makes me look bad” May 21st - “When we have a lot of cases, I don’t look at that as a bad thing. I look at it as a good thing because it means our testing is much better. So I view it as a badge of honour. Really, it’s a badge of honour” June 15th - “If you don’t test you don’t have any cases. If we stopped testing right now we’d have very few cases, if any” June 17th - “The virus is dying out” June 19th - “I have done a phenomenal job with covid” June 19th - “Testing is a double edged sword. EXTREME NARCISSISM MEETS UP WITH EXTREME STUPIDITY!: - At CDC about coronavirus: “Every one of these doctors said, ‘How do you know so much about this?’ Maybe I have a natural ability.” - 3-7-2020, Trump - “I am chief doctor” - 3-10-2020, Trump - “By April . . . when it gets a little warmer, coronavirus miraculously goes away,” - 2-10-2020 (a theory debunked by infectious disease experts.) - “The same vaccine could not work? You take a solid flu vaccine, you don’t think that would have an impact or much of an impact on corona.” - 3-3-2020 - “We have thousands of, hundreds of thousands of people that get better just by, you know, sitting around and even going to work” - “When you test, you find something is wrong with people. If we didn’t do any testing, we would have very few cases.” -5-14-2020 - "People are dying who have never died before." - 3-18-2020 - “Staying at home leads to death” - 4-10-2020 - “I really think, doctor, you want to treat this like you treat the flu” - Trump - When Trump was asked “What do you say to Americans that are scared?” Trump answered “I think you’re a terrible reporter” - 3-20-2020 - “Katie, she tested very good for a long period of time and then all of the sudden today she tested positive... This is why the whole concept of tests aren’t necessarily great.” - 5-8-2020 (Duh, Trump, that’s how pregnancy tests or any medical tests work - one day you test negative because you don’t have it and the next day you test positive because you do.) - “We have it totally under control. It’s one person coming in from China. And we have it under control.” - 1-22-2020 - “When you have 15 people and the 15 within a couple of days is going to be down to close to zero, ahhh, that’s a pretty good job we’ve done.” - 2-26-2020 - “We had a lot of people were saying maybe we shouldn’t do anything, just ride it! They say ride it like a cowboy! Just ride it! Ride that sucker right through!! - 3-29-2020 - “Anybody that wants a test can get a test.” - 3-6-2020 - "And then I see the disinfectant, where it knocks it out in a minute. One minute. And is there a way we can do something like that, by injection inside or almost a cleaning. Because you see it gets in the lungs and it does a tremendous number on the lungs. So it would be interesting to check that. So, that, you're going to have to use medical doctors with. But it sounds -- it sounds interesting to me." - 4-23-2020 (While looking in the direction of coronavirus response coordinator Dr. Birx and Department of Homeland Security science official Bill Bryan) - Trump said "very powerful light" could be used to "hit the body…or suppose we brought the light inside the body...either through the skin or in some other way." (When Trump asked Birx if she has heard of the use of heat or light related to the virus, she said, "Not as a treatment.") - 4-23-2020 - “When you see them going into those hospitals and they’re putting the stuff that you deliver, but they’re wrapping themselves and the doors are opening and they’re going through the doors and they’re not even ready to go through those doors. They probably shouldn’t…They’re running into death just like soldiers run into bullets, in a true sense, I see that with the doctors and the nurses and so many other people. They go into those hospitals, it’s incredible to see. It’s a beautiful thing to see. - 5-14-2020 - "And {coronavirus] is their new hoax. But you know, we did something that’s been pretty amazing. We’re 15 people [cases of coronavirus] in this massive country. And because of the fact that we went early, we went early, we could have had a lot more than that. - 2-28-2020 - “If we did have the testing, we’d have half the cases. If you cut that in half, we’d have yet again half of that.” - 7-14-2020 - “If we stop testing right now, we’d have very few cases, if any,” - 6-20-2020

What an awesome message for all of us, especially for those who are physically fighting injustices throughout the world through their protesting. Now is the moment. So glad Rep. John Lewis lived long enough to see hope in the future of this world.

A man of integrity and purpose. I am learning today of those who stood up when few were listening, who saw a better way, a higher goal at a time I was distracted. Oh how I wish I had been there. Marching.

Inspiring words read by a gifted actor. Thank you Mr O'Donnell for bringing Mr. Lewis' words to life for posterity. May he rest in perfect peace, may we all be emboldened to speak up and stand up for what is right, and may God protect every one who does so.

Don't lose hope. Take action as John Lewis tells us to. Contact your local Democratic Headquarters -- there is plenty you can do to help with the upcoming election. I met my best friends that way! It's so much fun to work for the Democratic Party and know you are making a difference in improving the country.

Faith and hope of what has sustain this country throughout its existence. It’s not gone it’s just been muted, it’s still there but it needs to speak out and muzzle the negativity and the lies! We have that right in this nation to continue the fight and have faith, that however long it takes it will be done.
