Hi, idk if you know this and I'm not trying to be rude but Chungha doesn't really like referring to them as backup/background dancers. "ChungHa revealed that she does not like the term 'background dancer' and hoped that people would remove the word 'back (ground)' when referring to dancers on stage. The reason behind that was because she felt that the dancers are also artists that help to perfect and draw the picture which the singer is painting."

She doesn't like her reffering them as back up dancers because she feels they have a big role in the whole dance, and she is right but by saying that she just wanted to remind that they are important as well. But it doesn't change the fact that their position and role's name in the dance is "backup dancers" if you keep in mind that they are as importand as her in the dance it's good 👌☺️

Fun fact that no one asked for and propapbly has nothing to do with this: they actually dance on heels when on stage! both male and female dancers

Actually chungha is a dancerand a choreographer specialized in whacking she have always put some whacking elements in her choreos. Because of her prerelease she wanted to show more dance variety with no boundaries so she asked to put voguing in this song choreography and in her second prerelease witch is play she chose sport dance bboying and other dances. Hope she continue delivering such quality

Fun fact: the dancers breakdown is the 3 out of 5 Vogue Elements 10:43 is hand performance 10:46 is floor performance (duckwalk) 10:49 is dips (shablam people call it lol) They showcase all 5 elements throughout the song though. Amazing dancers and choreographers xx 💕

the others already commented this but the choreographers are rian (left) and ran (right) on 4:18 (and they are the ones on the front in the dance break) rian is specialized on waacking and ran is specialized on vogueing (she actually have a nickname "mother of vogue" in korea). chungha met rian on a dance class and said she want to learn from her because she thought they have the same style as chungha is also specialized on waacking. rian choreographed almost all of chungha's title tracks (i think, not sure about rollercoaster and love u), b-sides, and dance covers (7 rings, god is a woman, migente, etc) so happy to watch you react to chungha! looking forward to another chungha reactions (:

Not sure which one Ran is but if anyone wanted to know, I believe Rian is on Chungha’s right (viewer’s left) when the female dancers come in 2:22, she also has a vlog on her yt channel about making this choreo (with eng subs!) Actually I thought both submitted demo choreos for this song but they ended up using only Rian’s...I might be wrong tho

i think the cuts are in there because there's no full choreo bc this was a pre-release without any promos, so they could kinda just do what they want and go crazy which i mean. . . i love and stan and i wanna learn voguing now. its not really a 'oh someone messed up' kinda cut but more necessary, ig.

With her waack background the way she styles her hand gestures, arm placements, fingers, etc. Makes it look soooooo natural like she goes balls eugh love her

Many of the dancers in the crew are actually specialized in voguing. Some of them are from the House of Love (with Ran, one of the choreographer, being the mother of the house), and others from different houses/dance crews. They're just amazingly talented and I love watching their dance videos on IG or KZread.

Just for your information: Chungha doesn't like to call her dancers "back-up dancers". They are too important to her to be just "back-up". Just call them dancers :)

For sure! Not throwing shade with the term of course. I understand what you mean when Chung Ha calls the dancers as “dancers” on a relationship perspective! Artists like Michael Jackson and Bruno Mars also feel the same way! On an industry perspective, “Back-up” is only being used as a professional term to separate the identity of the cast. If you think about it, Chung Ha is also a “dancer”, so the back-up term is used to not cause confusion when explaining.

Of course! What I love and respect the most about K-Pop artists versus (most not all of course) western artists, is that they share very intimate relationships with the dancers they work with and have an authentic respect for their choreography! I can see Chung Ha admires her dancers very well judging by how clean she executed the vogue stylistics. She must have trained very hard. I’m a fan!

i mean if we’re being technical here chung ha is obviously the main dancer so it’s not wrong to call them background dancers. without them this wouldn’t be as epic and big as it is now. i think it’s only wrong to use it if it’s to belittle or ignore them just because they’re in the “background”

For reals you have to check out the performance videos for this, the dancing is already amazing but then add on the lighting, costumes & heels, and camerawork...so good! There were videos on the studio choom, muply, and dingo music channels (plus the mv ofc which was also stunning)

The studio choom version features a lot more ‘hair ography’ that is cut from the MV and dance practices

If you wanna check out more vogue type dances with tutting and whacking, I recommend you watch Irene and Seulgi’s Naughty choreo video. One of the two choreographers actually specialize in tutting and vogueing; her name is Spella. This whole song has incredibly specific and detailed finger and arm isolations it’s crazyyy I definitely recommend

Omg YES. This choreo and her charisma is just so captivating. after this if you get a chance you should def see Naughty by Seulgi and Irene- the tutting is SOO good also Play by Chungha ( I love them both sooooo much)

In the dance portion that you liked (Chungha and the girls charging forward portion), the dancer in the front on the left is actually the choreographer for this specific dance! This is one of my favorite dances from Chungha, and I didn’t know how accurate you have to be to make this style look the way it should. As always, the queen is rocking the dance world💃🏻

This routine is totally captivating. One of my favorites in KPop period. Shout out Michaela!!!!!!!!!

The MAIN choreographer, her name is RIAN is the One beside Chungha, @7:33 on her left side. She has that Nike suit and a tattoo on her side. The other two choreographers are the ones right after Chungha in the line up, blonde one with the boots and the One on her left side. I'm pretty sure thats why everyone pulled OFF this choreo SO nicely bc she had the original choreographers as her dancers 😉❤❤

Can you please react to Shinhwa - This Love. Legends of kpop, debut in 1998 and still performing, idol for yours idols, truly mith. This Love was a breakthrough in kpop at the time, the first Vogueing dance that mans in their early 30s did. One of the best dances. Please don't underestimate them just because they are older than others, they are still in the best shape and incredibly good.

Two things: 1. Please call them dancers not "backup dancers". Chungha said she doesn't like them being called back up as she says they play a vital role in the overall feel and performance. I forgot which show she said it in but if memory is correct, she said it during a car ride. She also has thanked her dancers when she won awards...I admire Chungha for this as she recognizes fellow artists and their work. Shows her kindness 2...people already said the choreographers are in the video so no need to repeat...But did you know that one of the choreographers has a you tube account (RIan) where she shows her process of some of choreography for Chung ha as well as other artists.
