“More To This” From The Stairwell - Acoustic Performance

Музыка

“More To This” is out now…
A few days ago my 5 year old daughter asked me about death. I wasn’t prepared for that. As I walked down to my garage I was overcome with emotion… I sat on the steps and 20 minutes later this song emerged.
I’ve been blown away by how many people have connected to these lyrics. Your stories moved me to finish this song and release it as quickly as possible.
Thanks for meeting me in the vulnerability of this moment.
Now this song is yours.

You've brought tears to an old man's eyes. I've buried most of my family including several of my children. I've begged God to take me but he keeps me here for now. Your song is the question everyone thinks on in the darkness. God bless you for this. Thank you.

My heart goes out to you. Sending prayers 🙏🏻😢 Beautiful song to remember those we love. You have a purpose … I hope you realize it, no matter how small you may think it might be. It may mean the world to another, even a stranger. 💙

Your response touched me deeply. Sometimes we no longer feel important when so much loss around us crushes our soul. We each are here for a reason. Sometimes hanging on is our reason....and sharing that heartbreak with others so they realize they are not alone.

I’m sorry for all your losses. In our pain we become kinder, more empathetic, and expand our influence of love. We spread these things. In my eyes, God has not taken you yet because you fill the people around you with these things. You are still here for a reason and my gut says you are still giving so much of these positive things.

Today my father and I went fishing, just drifting down the Mississippi slowly enjoying nature...Idk how much more time I have with him because he is getting older.... but this song came on and I could hear him tap his foot along with the rhythm....I'll never forget that moment.... the sun was setting and the sky was blazing an amazing hue of colors that was so beautiful 😢and after the song finished the waves lapped against the boat and for a second I remembered every time he took me fishing...and I realized he gave me the greatest gift of all....a wonderful father...and a best friend. I will miss him greatly when he is gone...then it will be my turn to show my kid what it means to be a good father and a good friend...love your family, life's too short to miss an opportunity to share a wonderful moment with them.

@@paulrosas2302it is just a 4/4 measure. The chords are Am C G Capo on 3rd fret. Picking pattern is bass the string under skip a string then up two strings. For example C is 5th string 4th 2nd 3rd. The chorus changes just a bit by adding an Em and picking up the index finger up on the C and removing the ring finger on the G. Hope this helps if you were asking for guitar.

Sending lots of love to you. I’m willing to bet everything I have that this song didn’t accidentally come to you. I’m a 6 year widow - this path is so so hard. Find your strength. Be outside. Take your time. Listen to music. Laugh every chance you get. Lean into your support system. Let your loved ones be the person you would be for them in their time of need. (if you don’t have this - please reach out to a grief support group - you do not have to do this alone. 🌿💚) You are going to discover things about yourself that you never knew were possible. 💪🤟🤝 Remember it is an honor to have loved so fiercely. Grief is just another extension of that love. Travel with it. Embrace it. It may seem as if the world is crashing down every other minute - it doesn’t stop - we just get very good at honoring the waves of fierce love. ❤️ Ever onward, Just Some Internet Stranger 🌷

Haunting, inspirational, hopeful, and meaningful. Woke randomly, looked at phone to check time, and this was on. Been thinking of my 91 yr old Mom still with us and a friend who just lost his Dad suddenly and must have listened 30 times - the first time. Soul healing and soothing. Feel free to play this at my funeral one day my friends. This is deeply honest and written for child and reminds me how much I love mine and want to be better for him each day. Song belongs to be a mega hit ‘YellowStone’ style, but because of how it found me will always be private and meaningful moment to me thinking of lost loved one I’ve lost, will lose, and never want to lose. Thank you good sir. Music soothes the soul and you’ve soothed many with your music and story how it came about. Someone get him on the Tonight Show - music is meant to share.😢😊❤

I was watching and listening to an Instagram post of my daughter and new granddaughter, remembering the warmth and joy of holding that dear new baby just a day ago. Your video came up next and I continued to watch. I was immediately drawn in to listen. My husband and best friend of 53 years passed away in January. Ahhhh the yin-yang of life. Your song, “More to This”, speaks to me. The lyrics, your voice, guitar accompaniment, and harmonica finish are perfect. I will carry your song in my heart forever. Thank you.

Ma'am, I'm so sorry for your loss. My daddy and mom was married 64 years...daddy went home a month ago. Mom is having to learn a new life without her best friend and confidante at her side. He is all she has known since she married him all those years ago. They were children in our eyes today, at 13 for her and 17 for him..... but they pushed through. I will pray for you, Miss Ruth. I miss him so very much, my advocate and friend...but it is nothing, I'm sure, to what my mom is feeling at the moment. Good day, ma'am..

I’ve listened to this song five times. Could carry on listening to it forever. Numbers in my age say I’m old, don’t feel old. Body gets old and things get harder but still think I can do them, NO. I want this to be played at my funeral as it is the most positive sone I’ve ever heard about death. I came across this by accident.

This comment is from the Love of my life (@ryanlovvorn8024), and I'm the girl he's talking about. Sadly, we lost Ryan earlier this month (5/11) and this song takes on a whole new meaning for us. 100 more were the last words I whispered to him before I had to leave his body for the last time. Thank you for this song... I will cherish it for the rest of my life. I will always want 100 more with him.

I was thinking that also. Very "dylanesq" if you will. As a 51 year old I've listened to lots of Dylan. What an amazing songwriter he is amazing. I think I'd give Lucas the edge in his voice, though. I think that song "Girl from the north country fair" done with Johnny Cash is one of my personal faves.

A buddy of mine showed me this song about a week or so ago. While listening to it tonight I prayed to God that He would reveal Himself to you and help you to see that there is more to this. While praying I felt Him saying “why don’t you tell them about Me.” So friends I promise you there is more to this, and it’s eternal life in paradise with a perfect God, with no more pain and suffering, only joy and peace! Jesus loves you so much that He sacrificed Himself for your sins. He was thinking of you while he hung on that cross. Jesus said in Revelation 3:20 “Behold I stand at the door and knock, if anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him and him with Me.” Jesus is knocking at your door today friends. Will you answer?

Yesterday, I got the news that a dear friend died after a short but difficult battle with illness. “Don’t our tears beg for laughter” - my memories of him, almost every single one, are full of bellyaching laughter, the kind where your eyes can’t help but fill with tears. I’m not sure that the timing of this song crossing my path is entirely a coincidence or algorithmic happenstance. Thank you for this song. Hug your loved ones tight.
