'More taxes are coming from Labour if they win' - Defence secretary

Defence Secretary Grant Shapps has warned that a Labour government would be "very bad news", claiming it would mean "higher taxes for everyone".
Asked about a poll which suggested the Conservatives will only have 72 seats in the next parliament, the minister said: "No one has voted yet".

But actually very likely that Labour will come for more money. Moreover, the idea it will be paid by the very rich never actually happens (they move money and/or leave). It will be paid by the middle classes and those who have saved or have assets.

@@ridleyclayburn4599 Whoever takes over from this shower will have to budget accordingly because of so many incompetent policies have left the country in a poor fiscal state. This is because of Tory policies. It’s not the fault of the incoming administration but unfortunately it will be a poisoned chalice that we all have to drink from. There are now winners in this, due to 14 years of ideological ineptitude and Brexit. For slimy Seb Fox, Corrine Stockheath or Micheal Green or whatever he calls himself this week to sit there pontificating while his government have handed the bill to the poor and middle classes is hypocrisy in the extreme.

@@ridleyclayburn4599 I personally know one businessman who is ready to move his HQ to Dubai because Labour hasn't ruled out increases to corporation tax. All his business is conducted either over the phone or via his company's website, so he'll be saving the company 19% corporation tax. Of course, his dozen or so employees will be out of work until they find new employment, which means the government will lose the income tax and national insurance they currently pay. I'm certain plenty of other companies are starting to think in a similar vein too, because in a global digital society, headquarters can be moved with a click of a button. None of that matters to Labour though; they probably haven't even considered it, and if they have, well, they have principles to uphold. Am I worried? Yes, because I'll be retired in a couple of months, and I just know that with just a state pension and two modest private pensions paying out, I'm going to get caned along with millions of others.

Perhaps she could question this nonsense about a 'super majority'. It's nonsense to talk about this in the UK. There's no practical difference in the UK between a majority of 80 and 200. The government is still in control.

Remember one report says it would tax a 78% taxpayer for normal workers including min wage earners for the next 20 years and scraping all foreign aid and war budgets. Why doesnt grant tell the voters the truth on net zero and the whole truth on the cost in the next 5 years. They already know the cost of net zero but will not tell the voters who will demand it scrapped.
