More Migration due to Climate Change? | Documentary

Ғылым және технология

Climate change is increasingly impacting migration patterns, with experts predicting a significant rise in the movement of people towards America and Europe in the coming years due to environmental changes.
The escalation of extreme weather events, rising sea levels, and deteriorating living conditions in many parts of the world, especially in climate-sensitive regions, are compelling people to seek new habitats.

The EU has the moral responsibility to take in all refugees from the global South. The EU's colonial past is the only reason that the global South is poor today. 😢

That is simply not true. Most countries that were colonized particularly by Britain…benefited exponentially through this process. Implementation of roads, railways, hospitals, modern medicine, educational centres, fundamental legal framework. Enhanced, more productive food production facilities, mandated hygiene….and yes..the eradication of systemic slavery. Colonialism collapsed the regional warlords that held rest of the population in virtual feudal systems for generations. Ask anyone in..let’s say Nigeria..and they will completely agree that being part of the colonialism process was the best thing that ever happened to to them…India will say the same thing.

@@katarinavidakovic4718 ..I’m not sure I understand your point. I spoke to an acquaintance recently who is from Nigeria..who has generations and generations of ancestors from the same region. His opinion is that Nigeria drew a lucky card being colonized by Britain. He spoke of despair a slavery..lack of clean water, medications, localized massacres due to tribal warfare. No education for the masses. He thinks that Nigeria was absolutely lucky to have been taught their path towards the new global presence they have today..through Britain. My friend from Kerala in India..says exactly the same thing….so there we are!

@@zeroceiling You probably didn't understand her point because you thought it was directed at you. Try reading her comment again, assuming it's directed at the same guy you were replying to, and it'll make a lot more sense. Also, for the record, I believe that OP was being facetious. No one's that retarded. And, to avoid any confusion, by OP I mean the guy you were both replying to.
