Kim was a fool. Her coverage of international affairs was excellent. But when it came to COVID-19, she fell for the right-wing conspiracy theories. Kim could have interviewed Fauci if she wanted to. She didn't think of it. It would have been a great interview. And when somebody else on Rising set up their own interview with Fauci, she wanted to crash the interview. She spent a couple of years attacking Fauci, but she never called him up to find out what he actually believed. A good reporter gives somebody a chance to respond when she attacks him.

A biology professor said, "How did Rand Paul get through immunology in medical school?" Then you have people like Vincent Rancaniello, who teaches virology to medical students at Columbia, and sequenced the polio vaccine, who says that the lab leak "theory" doesn't make sense except as a politically motivated attack on China. Then we have you, who doesn't know much about molecular biology either. Who are you going to believe? I think your most honest answer is, "I don't know."

You've got that completely backwards. Occam's razor says that the simplest explanation is probably true. Scientists and doctors have studied hundreds of epidemics over the past 200 years, and they've seen what a natural origin looked like, long before there were any biotechnology labs. The COVID-19 epidemic looked like the SARS-1 epidemic before it, and all the other epidemics. The simplest explanation is that it's another natural epidemic like the others before we had biotechnology labs.
