MORE Foreign Language Covers🎶Guess The Original Song Music Quiz 🎵
Ойын-сауық
Rather than doing a Eurovision Song Contest Quiz this year, I figured it was about time to have another look at some Foreign Covers. This is actually Part 2, which the first version of this quiz released over a year ago • Foreign Language Cover...
This 'Guess The Song' quiz has quite a twist with foreign (non-English) language covers used. The aim is to guess the original song title as it would be in the English version. There's a range of languages used, with some songs seeming quite funny, and some being really rather nice. I've done quite a lot of research looking for these types of covers and it would be great to hear if you have any other you're aware of. Many of the songs do change the song title, either with translation differences or just a preference to the name, however the main aim here is to guess the original song title.

I am sorry for any spelling, language or general mistakes in this one. I've researched as much as possible, but I'm sure there's going to be errors somewhere.

Thank you, I think it's very fun one
17. Teenage Dirtbag in German just feels right. When I was a teen and visiting Germany that was very much the vibe.

Thank you very much. I must say you have excellent taste in music (& quizzes)
Another wonderful quiz--thanks so much. If you do a third part to this series, do check out the Romanian folk rock band Pasărea Colibri. They have covered a number of Dylan songs, the most interesting being Silvio (Oameni buni), Rainy Day Women #12 & 35 (Toți suntem puțin luați...), and Death Is Not the End (Sfârșitul nu-i aici). They also recorded versions of The Kinks' Alcohol (Alcool) and Complicated Life (Viața complicată) and Simon and Garfunkel's The Boxer (Boxerul).
Great quiz as always

I hadn't really thought about it, but that's a good point!
21/25 ( 21 ORIGONAL ARTISTS) but didn't know any of the foreign artists

I would have been seriously impressed if you managed to get any of the foreign artists!
I didn't recognise Angel of the Morning, Come on Eileen , I think we're alone now! and Raindrops. I can't go for that!! I never would have got that either. Some of the others I had to pause and think. Its weird not knowing the words. But yeah I got 20 out of 25. Interesting concept

Another fantastic score! I agree, not knowing the words can be quite bizarre, (and perhaps a bit frustrating) especially if you recognise the tune.

I don't know what this will do to my (self declared) reputation as as a music purist but I Think We're Alone Now by Tiffany was "our song" with my girlfriend at the time. Where's my coat?
Must've been at work for part 1. Got quite a few of those but can't help thinking the covers show how lazy people can be. Basically translate the words and keep the arrangement of the original. Probably being a bit of a music snob (me? never!) but to my mind, a cover should be a re-imagining in the new artists genre/style. Or maybe I've become my father!!

See now ordinarily I would agree with you. I do generally think that if an artist is going to do a cover, then they need to put a completely unique spin on the song to at least somewhat make it their own. However, I can kind of understand not doing it quite so much for a foreign cover, assuming the aim is to give people who speak that language a chance to fully appreciate the song 'as intended'. Perhaps I'm giving some artists too much credit though!

@@SHQuiz You make a valid point there. I may have been a little hasty with that comment although I must assume the people of those countries have heard the English version so are familiar with the original production/arrangement anyway. Maybe I am actually being too much of a snob but it would be interesting to know how well sales went versus the original. Could ponder the pros and cons all day here to be fair. Also, I think it's really effing cool that there's an Arabic version of Rock the Casbah...
23 is indeed greek, which I didn't realise until seeing the name despite being a native speaker... So can't really blame you for not being completely sure yourself 😂

Ha! Thank you for not only clarifying but also making me feel better about not being sure 😆
