Hey guys! Here is the early Red Hood Training video! This is to replace the annual Batman workout this year, as I'm going to be saving that for my 1 million subscribers video. I have big plans for that one!
So, how do we differentiate a Red Hood workout? How should Jason Todd train?
Of course, he's similar to Batman in many ways. As I've discussed in previous videos, then, he needs to train in a cross-modal manner. That means training not only for strength, but also explosiveness, mobility, endurance, agility. He should be able to go from a roof-top chase, to a fist fight, to hanging from the ladder of a helicopter!
He also needs to incorporate skills training. That means martial arts, gymnastics, rock climbing...
Unique to The Red Hood, though, is the firearms training. Jason Todd is not afraid to use lethal force. I'm not about to write a training program that includes weapons training - as that's outside my wheelhouse - but we CAN look at the kinds of traits and abilities that come with marksmanship. Things like sports vision, situational awareness, reflexes, target prioritisation...
In this video, I recommend some brain training methods designed specifically to train these same attributes.
The Red Hood is also more desperate than Bruce. He's not the unstoppable tank with a plan for every situation. He's fast, brutal, and full of rage - and he uses in-the-moment tactical decision making to get the upper hand. To that end, we'll be incorporating high-intensity functional training - so that we can maintain maximum effort for a prolonged period.
This routine ties together a lot of what I've been talking about lately on the channel: conditioning, high intensity functional training, sports vision, working memory, and strength-to-weight ratio.
How do you think Jason Todd would train? And who would you like me to analyse next?

I love your "training like different fictional badasses" series! I'm a big fan of things like comics and superheroes, the Witcher, etc so it's really cool to see that kind of thing broken down and explained in this level of detail, and also in a way that's achievable for regular people who are inspired by these characters. My one request would be that as a woman who's interested in fitness-- I've done multiple styles of dance, judo, boxing and kickboxing, and also tried my hand at running, weight training, calisthenics, and I aspire to start learning parkour (and in a perfect world HEMA longsword training)-- it would be really great to see this kind of analysis for more female characters. I really liked your Black Widow video (unsurprisingly it really speaks to me as a lifelong dancer/martial artist and comics fan lol), and there are definitely a lot of other badass female characters out there who would make really interesting video topics. For example Wonder Woman and the other Amazons from DC, Vi from the Arcane show, Catwoman, Korra, Toph, Ty Lee (tbh every woman from AtLA), Michonne from TWD, Sarah Connor, Furiosa, Ellen Ripley, Mulan, Brienne and Arya from Game of Thrones... just to name a few 😅

Thank you! Absolutely, I will do more female characters in future! And thanks for the suggestions :-) I tend to steer away from overpowered characters like Superman/Wonder Woman only because we can’t really train much like them. Unless they have a single gimick like speed etc. Lara Croft is one I intend to do at some point t but I want to do that somewhere really scenic. Sword fighting characters are high priority though atm (been doing more club and mace training) so those are some great suggestions, thanks!

Love the Lara Croft idea. Make sure to get that climbing in. @@TheBioneer
The cinematics on this are next level. This should be its own movie
This is accurate when it comes to meeting Red Hood's attribute demands. As much us your focus is speed, skill training, gaining functional strength etc, I would also emphasise on weight and strength training. Red Hood is 6"00 and 225lbs. Having the build and skills would be an asset in my and others book. Keep up with the videos as we learn from you and the community.
I feel the need to comment this. Jason's height tends to fluctuate. He's been anywhere from 6ft to 6ft 5in. Batman is always a solid 6ft 2in. However, since becoming Red Hood, Jason has always been a solid 225lbs. That's 15lbs heavier than Batman. So, Jason is usually (canonically) bigger than Bruce.

The 2 martial arts I think you can boil Jason down to would be Lethwei and Wrestling. Lethwei for strikes, think Muay Thai but with head butts where he can put his helmet to use if he has it. And Wrestling because he's explosive and it builds massive grit.

Incorrect. It's more than that. Jason Todd got the same ninjitsu type of training as batman from Rash Al Goul and Talia Al Goul, ((snickers) The only woman to sucessfully r4p3 batman). You should know what the result of that was. I digress. Jason trained with them for years before he returned To Gotham as The Red Hood. So, he knows much more than only even three martial arts.

Funnily enough I have been thinking about red hood more lately
When training at home, I'll often do dry fire training between sets or as the "rest" round of a circuit. It can help to train to maintain your fundamentals while your heart rate is high, and would probably improve your ability to shoot while under stress.
Finally dropped!! I’m excited to watch.
Great one man! I love when you add the story with the training plan
You are unique in the game ! Thank you for the high qualiy of your contents !

I've just resubscribed to you on another account. Don't really think you'll ever see this comment but just in case I wanted to say that dude...I've followed you since you started this channel and your striking technique has gotten MUCH better over the years. Good work brother.
I'd love to see a series of these based on the Jedi. Incorporating things like meditation & yoga with gymnastics, core strength, mindfulness in action, some HEMA/kendo sword training.
Hey Adam!! Can you make a video of how to survive outside , in cold , hot , all conditions , all terrain , in city or wilderness with little food , sleep or water. With the exception of using technology as a tool to train for it in the future. you are awesome Bioneer❗️

That Gym building House you workout in is awesome, keep Up the good Work and have a nice day💪
Fun fact: Batman is 6'2 (1.88 m) and Red Hood is 6'0 (1.83 m). However, despite being shorter than Bruce, Jason is actually heavier, with Bruce weighing around 210 lbs (95 kgs) and Jason weighing 225 lbs (102 kg). Red Hood is also typically depicted eating food with a higher calorie intake like (he eats a lot of hamburgers) and taking that into consideration along with his height-to-weight ratio makes me theorize that Jason's training and diet are more focused on building brute strength.
Great video Adam!

🤔here's a crucial bit of info yall needed here you go: Jason's fighting style focuses on brutality, strength, and speed; he is shown to have mastered over half-a dozen fighting styles and has proven to be a master of👉 Aikido, Judo, Capoeira, Silat, Kung Fu, Karate, Ninjutsu, Savate, Krav Maga, Muay Thai, and Taekwondo. . yw😎 Good videos videos as always @TheBioneer
I fucking love you The Bioneer
i started doing chess moves against my computer during rest periods in my workouts. as an alternative i do random generated basic math questions including simple algebra. i find this most challenging during my heavy lift or max. reps days. as a side benefit i find it works my internal patience and defeating negative self criticism as math was always my intellectual weak area.
earliest i have ever showed up for a vid hey yall also cool subject matter
You could also do a Star Trek themed Starfleet Training video, incorporating real life Air Force and astronaut physical training with exploration, field sciences, combat basics, and diplomacy basics. Bonus points for doing it all in a single, multi-purpose outfit that's color coded. 😊 Basically just a different spin on your usual content, but as a Trekkie myself, I'd love to see a real video on Starfleet fitness. 🖖

This is my favorite series of videos. I don’t know if I’ve missed it, but could you do one on how you believe Frank Castle, The Punisher, would train?
do running sprints on the beach in sand it helps develop explosive leg muscles, increasing your average speed. and try shadow boxing underwater.
Finally you make it bro...
great stuff! Would love to see a video on green arrow(Steven Amell)
Was that a camo CZ75? I see youre a man of class
The different “-athlon” events are so interesting to me. Heptathlon doesn’t seem often discussed, but looks grueling. Modern pentathlon includes a rifle shot; it’d be interesting to swap in an archery event instead, especially if added to a heptathlon-making, I dunno, a modern commando octathlon kind of thing?
Hey great video loved it a lot but am i the only one that noticed you only frow crosses with your right hand
Thank you for making this. Red Hood is my favorite comic character. Do me a solid and make Moon Knight next? Juggling physical progress with mental health/mental acuity?
Where can we get those light things, that test your reflexes? Is there a name for them? Cool vid 😎
Can you make videos training about uphill sprints? Ang Their benefits
I notice you didn't mention the REAKT Trainer for the oculus/meta from years ago. Was there ever any follow up on the next thing they were working on after REAKT?
The, "Hooded Box Tesr" is mentioned by Matt Best in his autobiography, Thank You For My Service. The CIA used the HBT to train their Contractors.
I think I get it now, the thing wrong with your punches. Now I’m a boxer myself, so I have seen myself, other boxers as well as pro boxers and ufc fighters on TV when they punch, and whenever I see your punches, it seems weird. The thing is you don’t have the “snap” we fighters have, and your guard is a bit amateur, good enough though for beginners. But yeah, that is true, you don’t have the snap yet my friend, so u maybe strong as batman, but batman can still hit harder and faster due to the snap. One thing you can do is, slow shadow boxing and when you punch, you stretch your shoulder further, now while doing it faster can cause injury, but if you do it slowly and look at your self in the mirror for the technique, you will have the best punch when you do it faster. I hope you save Gotham soon.
@eru6461
3 ай бұрын
Actually, now it’s just my thinking, that your huge amount of muscle, the fact you have become a behemoth of a man, is preventing you from having a snap in your punch. Like your shoulder muscles are really good bro, respect, but maybe it’s too big for punching stuff. I think you should to shoulder mobility exercises or something, idk about this muscle thing, maybe ask some coach, I just know how to box lol, that’s my life.
RED HOOD MENTIONED🗣🗣🗣🔥🔥🔥
look at those punches
Can you do one in which power, strength and size are prioritized while endurance and speed are trained but no a priority

you need to do Green Arrow training too!
Bro where did you find that red hood jacket from 0:03?
Daredevil training next

I hope we'll see a Moon Knight training routine someday, btw good work as always dude!
Any thoughts on stretching every muscle/tendon 30s. daily? It takes quite a bit of time.

Ive said before, but you should do a fun Batman '66 Training video using only training modalities common in the 60's.
Does the super-functional book take into consideration your recent content and learnings?
I don't know about becoming Batman or whatever, but if you keep on upping your production values like this, you should be up for a Bafta I reckon! Seriously, great job!
We need a Tim Drake: Robin training video now. Martial arts and calisthenics training but also cognitive skills training and proprioception. Imagine a training video on how to be the Worlds Greatest Detective
