As soon as one illegal immigrant is granted permanent residency then citizenship they are then able to apply for extended family to immigrate. The next fm on that chain is then counted as "legal" in your immigration system. Also only one family member from a strait forward legal immigration process can then start the chain for extended family. Legal immigration is welcome but must be narrowed to Countries who share values, appreciate the opportunity, actually respect the diversity and the native cultural. That have evidence the ability to continue to share their diverse cultures and norms while also sharing those of the host Country. It's pretty evident that there are a select few immigrating cultures that do not immigrate with this perspective or intent. Well one in particular. And as such immigration from Nations that share that form of ideology should be narrowed or ceased.

What is it about 'Illegal' that these people do not get? Either you enter a country legally by going through the proper channels, and arrive fully capable of supporting yourself, and your family if you are bringing them with you, or you stay out. It is that simple. Coming in illegally is, well, illegal. Crack open a dictionary, not an on-line dictionary that can be rewritten, but an actual book, and look that word up. A lot of the people these days seem to have no understanding of the definition of the word.
