They are definitely proving that Magnus is the only one worth the title.. They are 2nd and 3rd best players in the world and are making moves and blunders that anybody who ever watched Magnus play knows he would never in a million years make.. The title really is meaningless if he's not playing for it, and them proving it is just a big W for him.. But watching the 2 of them battle is still the best thing we, as chess fans, could've asked for

Insane. If nepo doesn't become world champ, this game is the one he will never forget.
The blunder felt extremely poetic. Too focused on bolstering his offense, bringing up another threat with the pawn only to find out he was rushing to his doom. That single pawn was the pivotal part of a delicate structure holding back the entire enemy assault.

Sound of 350 ELO, who's start watching after match 10. And People who overestimated Magnus. Your GOAT just getting lost against Hikaru and Abdusattorov on grandfinal. The end of your era has come KIDS!!
@tiencongminh4804
Жыл бұрын
@@AkunYtmusic-pb8el 1. We are talking about World Chess Championship, where player has much more serious preparation and bootcamp than any others classical tournament. Hikaru and Abdusattorov can't even top the Candidate Tournament to face Magnus (Hikaru finished in 4th place, Abdusattorov didn't even make the list). 2. Nepo did make blunders during 2022 WCC while Magnus made little to none. 3. People overestimated Magnus? Well he isn't as strong as when he was young but have anyone ever reach his elo during his era?
If there’s one thing all the new-to-chess “streamer” crowd has learned from all this, it’s that computers passed humans almost thirty years ago and never looked back. The eval bar is extremely misleading to the point of being virtually useless in time pressure, especially in muddy positions. Ding is deliberately pushing offbeat lines into muddy positions. This makes mistakes wayyyy more likely than the previous draw fest championship games we’ve watched with like 15 berlins in a row. It isn’t just that these guys are “making mistakes” in a vacuum. Fabi couldn’t see half these wild computer lines either. He was perplexed as to why the eval bar was swinging after seemingly natural moves, and only after seeing the eval bar and then analyzing other lines could he half way figure out wtf was going on. This was so much more complicated than just “a game with a bunch of blunders”. The only caveat is f5, which could have been clear to other super GMs as losing on the spot without having an eval bar.
I appreciate the action and tension this World Championship brings to us, but it must be hard to watch for Super-GMs. 😂
@TheVitrexHD
Жыл бұрын
Nah, if you're a super gm and have a hard time watching that prolly there's a lack of empathy or they most likely never been in such a situation before. So I assume that most super gms, who are also human, won't have such a horrible time
@cuencaguy9799
Жыл бұрын
@@TheVitrexHD It would be hard to watch in large part because you have empathy. Watching someone struggling and being able to understand what they're feeling makes things painful. Yes, it may be frustrating at times to watch the blunders, but more than anyone, you understand the pressure such a tournament can bring and certainly can recognize how much more pressure there is in a WCC match.

@@cuencaguy9799 agree with that. That's actually what I meant. Just wanted to make the case that if certain super gms have a hard time watching that because of blunders etc, it's prolly because of a lack of empathy and maybe some subtle arrogance

Maybe, but I think when he's old he will look back at that great 6th game of the LAST championship as the turning point of his chess life. To play absolutely superbly and STILL lose is much more shattering longterm than to lose to a single blunder in the wrong match.
This is so intereting as commentators said Ian should jave played A6 not B4, amd B4 marked the end for Ian, but you say B4 was the right move. Love to see you commenting
@iamaslina

They all had their opportunity to compete for a championship and they failed. Now they're sitting there and commenting on the ascending and descending eval bar, that's all you should know about their evaluation quality. If the computer glitched for a sec and showed that the h3 opening is a forced win, they would've doubted all their chess experience 😅 So just enjoy arguably the most interesting WCC in the history of chess. And yes, in my opinion, Magnus made his own choice, and it's not the fault of either Nepo or Ding that he didn't want to play. So let's recognize the new champion as if he won against Magnus, until Magnus confirms his right to this title again.
Simply gg, why not? 21:08 I love Hikaru
16:41 Hikaru said that with no expression is killing me
This series has been more exciting and entertaining than any recent Marvel movie. You feel more to the sacrifice of the rook than Scott's sacrifice in Quantumania
"gg, why not?" is gettin absolutely hilarious!
I saw different video analysis of this game (Agadmator, Pepe Cuenca, Partidas inmortales...) and you are the only one who full explained the line after black would play b3! the others just said "and the knight is too far", but you showed how the white knight in fact is in time to take the b pawn but after that, black is two pawns up and can win the final. Also, you explained why black's a6 instead of 26. b4 (as almost everybody pointed out) shouldn't be the right move. Congrats for the best game analysis so far!
The speed lmao. Hikaru blitzing out videos.
The match is equalised, I will hope for a tiebreaker if it means even more gmhikaru recaps
I have been watching Ian's games ever since his encounter with Magnus last FWC and it hurts to see him in pain. I have a lot of support for Ian. I am hopeful that he will end up as World Champion.
At some point Ding realized that the H file would be weak unless he put the knight there and locked it. That knight is probably the strongest knight on the rim of all time, it threatens checkmate along with defending the H file from attacks. Around the end of the game Nepo got so angry at that knight that he tried f4 to attack the pawn protecting it, but he lost the game as a result lol. So many blunders each game though. This match could be the weakest showing of a World Chess Championship of the last 70 years or something. I don't remember seeing this many blunders at the highest level until before 1950s or something.
stockfish wasnt having it this game 😂
Yet Hikaru's "Welcome back" remains as strong as ever, no wavering! High quality every single time. ❤

@@FenceThis I think that when it comes to 2nd best you could argue any number of players to be second best. When's the last time you heard Ding or Nepo win anything but the candidates? I've heard of Hikaru, Wesley, Fabi, Giri, Nordirbek, and other talented juniors winning WAY more than these guys. So this idea of becoming "2nd best" I just don't buy. I also find the title world champion meaningless because they didn't beat the worlds best player to become it. Neither of these players will go on to have any sort've dominance like Karpov did when Fischer refused to defend his title. I think what we will see is after this is the new world champion finishing under 3rd place in most major tournaments they play. My one hope is that Magnus comes back and wins the candidates and then refuses to play the world championship match anyway. lol
Never thought I'd see the Colle System in a Championship in 2023. I used to play that when I was a beginner. Always thought it was a basic and weak opening for white. Maybe I'll start using it again.
I suspect, that because of concentrating on the corner attack of his, it fogged the non-existent bishop coverage, in the opposite corner, during the super blunder pawn push at the end...
Just great analyzing video. Thanks a lot
This has to be so painful to watch for a guy who controlled his own destiny to be the one sitting in Ding's seat and benefitting from Ian's collapse
I can't stop chuckling at "More Blunders Than Moves". A simple but effective title.
Ding getting lucky this time. What a match we have ahead of us.
The world championship game that reminds me of a 1600 high school game.
