Not only am I amazed at all the things you pull out of the water, but I am amazed at how dedicated you are with magnet fishing that you are out in the coldest weather with the frozen water. That is also a lot of work to pull that heavy stuff out of there. You all do such a great job. Loved the video.

11:57 - pouring funnel. It's asymmetrical with an undulating 'flat' surface with rounded edges - exactly what happens to the exposed cast iron on the surface of the pour hole.

The bell shaped casting is actually the pouring basin or cup that lead to the sprue that gave a pool of molten metal to help fill the mould.

@@Orxenhorf although I originally thought this too, I have a proof letter here off the national war museum that my one is in fact a napoleonic tip and nigel found exactly the same that day. I would be very interested in some pictures of these so called pouring cups or crucibles as you will not find anything that resembles that on the Internet, as for I think everything is artillery, I do hope things are and its my main thing I look for as I am a collector of all wars. Thanks for your comment

If you look at Railmaponline you will fid a overlay of former railway lines over the current Google Street map. It`s quite possible there was a siding to serve that foundry.

I live in Michigan, and I also enjoy magnet fishing. I’m lucky to find three or four things in most rivers I go to. It’s amazing to me how much stuff is in your rivers . They were used for dumps for a long time weren’t they?

unfortunately people are too lazy to take the right action to remove it so ends up in the rivers or canals.
That one piece looked like the old style carjack or bumper jack missing the bar going through the middle of it.

I asked this on an old video but I think you answered it , I was wondering if you sold the scrap and sound's like you do, respect for What you do cuz it avoids damage to boats and stops any harm to fish life , not sure if rusting metal harms fish but can't do em much good.
