The pilgrimage to retro gaming is a must. These videos are so cool to watch. It also makes you realize how bad u wanna start a gaming collection.
Hey! Thank you for the new video. I am heading to Tokyo next week and can't wait. :D
It's amazing those dragon ball figures are just arcade prizes. I was just at a figure shop in NYC and they were selling them for $40+ dollars a figure. Nice video though. Enjoyed it as always!
Thanks again Akihabara tour!
Good shit! Keep it up!
That's it!! I need to go to Japan to meet up with Jim to play all these awesome games at these arcade with him. 8^)
“Where the hell am I going!?” , yea I ask myself that everyday 😂
Nothing makes my day like enjoying a new Akiba and KidShoryuken video on a day off from work!
I’m taking my 8 yr old daughter to Tokyo in June. She’s never seen a proper arcade so I’m very excited to bring her to a few of these joints.
You make these videos so entertaining and fun to watch 👍🏻
Thanks for this!
I wanna visit Japan now.
Do it for the love of arcades i like that
Flying in to Tokyo on Thursday. I can't wait to explore Akiba and get some Japanese games!

Is that the arcade with the black Astro City cabs? I saw that place the last time I was there but didn’t get to try it out. The other arcade elsewhere in the mall was good too.

You used the Japanese Sonic CD soundtrack! AKA, the GOOD Sonic CD soundtrack.
I also saw a playable arcade of Vs. Super Mario Bros. while you were at the Taito Game Station. Cornshaq did a video on Vs. Super Mario Bros. 2 years ago.

Love these videos. Not just the arcade footage, but the walking around Tokyo bits and, especially, whatever the hell that Ultraman (Superfamicom? ) commercial was.

Hmm, I don't see that many of them around actually. I guess they've been replaced by more recent rhythm games.

Smashing it out of the park with these videos Jim thanks for uploading again you deserve more subs.
I remember when that Taito Station was called S@Y. It was still a Taito arcade but JAMMA games had much more of a presence there, like 2 whole floors of classic retro games. It kinda rivalled HEY in some respects but it seems they’ve downsized now. It’s a shame, alongside the closure of the TRY Amusement Tower Akiba seems to be losing quality arcades at a rate of knots. We will always have HEY though...hopefully.
Jim, are you going to SEGA FES? I’ll be there from Oregon! Thank you for the videos. It’s helped me plan my retro gaming trip!

Hey man! Love ya vids hey! Im in the market for a PC Engine and there seems to be a few options so not sure which one and where I should get one from. May I ask for any recommendations? I'm in Australia. It looks like there cheapest in USA for some weird reason. Thought they'd b cheaper where u are. In Australia we hardly heard about it. But it'd be cool to add to my collection!!! Keep gaming m8!!!!

I'd recommend getting the PC Engine Duo-R if possible and if it's in your price range. They're pretty expensive but don't require any system cards to run the CD games. Also, the CD player is region free. Maybe have a look on Yahoo Auctions or in some of the Japanese game groups on Facebook.

Thing is though, visit one arcade you've visited nearly all. They're all very cookie-cutter no matter which station you're at. My suggestion is to stick to showing us the ones that have originality or personality, rarer or more retro games. Keep up the good work though. Btw, have you done a vid on the retro arcade in Baba?
