Mordis - Cataclysm Rogue PvP Highlights

Cataclysm is my favourite expansion when it comes down to PvP and rogue in particular. Last couple of weeks I spent some time playing on this Cata server. I managed to record some fun clips and decided to put them together in a small highlight video. The montage consists of a mix of BG, World PvP and Arena footage.
The server I played on was of good enough quality, but nothing special. It had some annoying bugs and felt laggy a lot of the time. Still I think it was the best Cata server out there. The PvP scene was pretty active and I felt like a lot of experienced/good players played at higher ratings.
Classic didn't turn out how I wanted it to be. PvP is pretty artificial (honor farmfests, hardcore minmaxers...) and less spontaneous as I hoped it would be. It's been months since I touched the game. Maybe things changed by now, I don't know.
I have at least one PvP video for every notable expansion now. Just TBC is missing. One day, if Blizzard releases Classic TBC servers, I might try make one. TBC is my least played (but still one of my favourites in my memory), so it could be a challenge. Anyway, hope you enjoy this. I had a blast playing Cataclysm again.

Thanks a lot man. I used to play on Apollo 2, but haven't played the newest server. Been nearly 2 years since I last played Cataclysm Rogue.

do you have much experience with backstab daggers build with sub? idk if i wanna play hemo or backstab, will have to experiment with both

Haven't played Cata in a while, but I remember both specs being viable. Hemo being a more defensive build (you take the Improved recuperate talent) and backstab being the big damage build. I suggest you experiment with both and see what fits your playstyle best. I prefer backstab personally!

@@stormrage6307 ну как сказать, у меня 14 лет ехп и все классы 3-3,3к, из красивых мувов это стандартный шд кик и по фокусу закидоны+кайты всякие, по мне так примитив) но это я слишком опытен просто, кнопки жмёт примерно на 2,2 ммр с не лучшей статой как-то так, хз что добавить, скрипты что я делаю просто лучше все это делают без участия человека :D p.s а я своим ехп превосхожу скрипты/софты вот такие дела дорогуша

horde is orc (-15% stun, +ap buff for 15 sec) and undead (WoF and nice animations)

How viable is mutilate in cata? I played Mutilate/resto druid to 3200 in classic woltk, would it be decent in cata (don't have much cata experience). I know sub is like ultra broken in cata, I just never liked sub, mutilate was always more fun.

It's been years since I last played on a Cata server. As far as I know, Assassination is simply not viable in high rated PvP. The lack of both Shadowstep and Preparation really hold it back from going high. It packs a ton of damage but lacks mobility/control. In MoP I remember Assas being great again, but in Cata not so much. Things might be different in Classic Cata though. New meta comps/specs may arise. Game isn't as figured out as Wotlk Classic was imo. Gl!

I wish I could give you the exact answer, but I no longer have my Cataclysm client. I believe it's around 0.70 (retail metrics). It's definitely to the lower side. I do increase my Unit Frames size with the MoveAnything addon, though. So overall my ui is smaller, but my Unit Frames (player, target, focus) are a bit bigger in comparison.

Hey man, it's been YEARS since I've last played Cataclysm, so I'm afraid I don't have a clear answer. Are you talking about 1v1 situations or 2v2? In Cataclysm you can beat any class in a 1v1 thanks to recuperate. Just gotta play it out patiently with resets. If you have questions about 2v2, go ahead!

why would you say its better expansion as rogue ? im wotlk rogue pvp and im geting rekt by a lot of classes. im thinking about saving my gold for cata's calssic expansion

It's all personal preference. I think Cata really modernizes Rogue gameplay while still keeping core Classic elements. Redirect combo points, Smoke Bomb, Recuperate... Your options as Rogue in Cata are limitless and I love it. I suggest you try it out. Most classes have great design in Cata imo

Cata rogue is literally the best rogue ever idk whatever classic andies say . I played rogue in wotlk and in dragonflight and both don’t come near cata

@@Thrall966 agree modern retail wow in dragonflight is awful, reason why their pvp scene is dead, not even Blizzards 20k+ viewer PR streamers can sell retail atm lol.

@@Dreamonology Retail isn’t that bad right now . Dragonflight is by far the best expansion since wotlk . Game is pretty fun . The playerbase are getting everything they want . No borrowed power grind . No rep grind . It’s the first time since OG TBC that I have 6 alts all max level in dragonflight . Retail PvP scene is bloated and giga dead though . I don’t think anything can save that
