    @@beatlejuice5951 It's one of the original Ibanez UV7s from what I recall. Those are hard to come by now, but they do have newer models that are basically copies, just from a different place building them, though I hear both good and bad things about the quality on them, so honestly, I'd play it safe and go for something Japanese built from Ibanez, if you can hunt anything like that down.

    It's got a heavy sound, really warm and thick, but honestly I think some of the riffs could be better, and there could have *definitely* been more lava in the tracks, but that's all just my opinion. I also hoped for a 6 string song or two, but that's not really a complaint, just my personal interest on how something fresh and in D# would sound coming from Trey. Formulas, Heretic, Domination and Gateways will always be my favorites, though. Formulas first, the other three in no particular order.

    Awesome playing my man. But a have a doubt and i think that, maybe, you can help me with this. Right now i'm between two choices: the ibanez RG7620 (7 string) and the ibanez s540 (6 string - the same guitar that Bill Steer used to use in the early 90's). But i dont' know if i buy the 6 string and downtune it to B standard or if i buy the 7 string. Which one do you think that is the best option? I basically listen to old school stuff, mainly Carcass and Morbid Angel. I don't listen to much stuff that uses directly the seven string, but i find these seven strings fucking sexy dude.

  • @azagur-sag988

    @azagur-sag988

    The RG7620, hands down. I get where you're coming from with the S540, but I would choose the 7 over six every time. The 7620 is basically the more 'affordable' version of an Ibanez Universe, but honestly, I got no complaints with mine at all. If you know how to treat it well, and play guitar, then there's nothing to second guess. Unless it's used and the previous owner treated it like shit or something.

    Do you have any suggestions for guitar/amps for a beginner. I'm very impassioned by DM to play and I intend to work hard until I'm at a level where I can shred morbid lava like a maniac like yourself, and I have no problem spending money for quality. And suggestion is appreciated and great work on the lava boss! Your video sound is also very crisp now.

    I think one of the best choices you can make, from my own person experiences in handling one ,is the Peavey Vypyr Tube series. I've had my standard Vypyr here for about 10 years now and it sounds reasonably nasty in a good way for a 30 watt solid state amp, but hearing the tube version of the Vypyr sounded so sick compared to mine and I've been wanting to get one for a while, but I've been putting it off for ages. I'd say this is the safest choice and a really fucking good one for a starter amp, since it's powerful as fuck and you have so many amp models and effects to play with on it. From there, you can work into getting actual pedals for your own board when you learn what you like and don't like to use in terms of effects from what the amp has built in. The effects on it sound pretty great, too. If you get this amp, I HIGHLY recommend you get the pedal that's built for it to switch things around on it while you play and so you can use the looper and all that. It really does open up a whole new realm for you to toy with along with just tone tweaking. Plus, it has a built in tuner. As for guitars, go for something like an Ibanez or a Jackson. Anything that's not some bottom of the barrel shit for both brands, honestly. If you want to Lava, just go straight for something with a tremolo, and one that's got a locking nut on it, none of that fender nonsense where it's got a standard nut that doesn't lock, also don't fall for any of the locking tuner stuff, there's not really a point for that if you have a locking nut, if you ask me. Any Ibanez that has an LoPro Edge tremolo on it would be really great. Maintenance for them and parts acquisition is a bit of a hassle, but Ibanezrules.com usually has everything that you need, but not cheap. Still, they're great tremolos and a guitar with one of them will serve you well if you learn to take care of it. Don't settle for 22 frets, either. Thanks, man, I wish I could find some way to make them sound more punchier and clear, but I'm still experimenting with my mic and interface! I could have definitely done better with the Lava, though!
