What a dirty evil riff. Trey is an underrated riff writer in the metal world. They’re so heavy and sludgey. Most sludge bands wish they could write riffs like this.

Anyone who actually knows metal knows Trey, Morbid Angel, and how ridiculously talented he is. If he’s underrated at all in metal in general, not death metal specifically, it’s because those fans or bands who underrate him don’t actually know who he is, lol.
So we’ll done. But it really had me sitting back thinking, damn, Morbid Angel is so fucking good.

This to me is the heaviest song I've heard honestly, not because the vocals which most people will focus so much, sometimes too much on. But what this has that Black Tongue doesn't, is that low fucking guitar tone that's just impossible to explain because it's the massivest thing I've ever heard.

Thank you Trey Azagthoth for writing some of the most killer, brutal fucking riffs. Man, I miss seeing live music!! By the way can somebody do a cover of Deicide in this series? That would be awesome. Something off of serpents of the light. That entire album is underrated imo.

Deicide self titled , legion or once upon the cross
@danielwilson9724
3 жыл бұрын
@@johnvega2696 im with u , the first two is where Deicide were in full prime, Legion being a bit more technical but self titled being the only music tht legitimately scared me whn it came out cause I was all of 12 yrs old and besides Death or Cannibal Corpse, Deicide were my Death Metal introduction to extremely blasphemous music and I literally felt like Glen was conjuring something in my house when it was playing, I still get goosebumps just talking about it.. Once upon the Cross is the last album of thm I was basically on board with fully, though I like alot of tracks on Serpents of the Light they really started and eventually DID lose me after those records, and idc wht anyone says but I think the Hoffman brothers WAS the Deicide sound , especially the first two!! Those ridiculous awesome riffs with the gallop picking in it just ripped my fucking head off my neck Everytime!!!
@eldiablo3794
3 жыл бұрын
@@drunkswithguns4124 Also, I wonder why the mix sucked because it was recorded at Morrisound studios just like their previous albums. I think Deicide recorded everything from their demo through their 2001 In Torment in Hell album at that studio. They are famous for having a distinct sound to their recordings... and for some reason their album Serpents sounded way different from their other records like you stated. I wonder what they changed up that made that record sound bad engineering wise.
I was just listening to Blessed are the Sick in my Dodge today and realized it's now oldies. Covenant was like 2 years later? This is like my dad's Jethro Tull 8 track. This aging stuff is b.s.

I didn't like it at all. He just sounded like he trying to take a shit. I get he doesn't have those David Vincent lows, but this sounded way overproduced to cover the vocals. I was excited after seeing some of the other covers in this event, but it was a pretty forgettable cover for me.

All hail Morbid Angel!
Deep, heavy, sophisticated, nightmarish with an epic touch tune by Morbid Angel. Respectful cover version by Gorguts monsters. Gorguts fan since 1991.
Sean was the first real metal drummer I ever hung out with. And Ryan did my best tattoo about 22 years ago. All good cats. And this cover rules. 🤘🤘
This is how you do Morbid. Awesome!
Man...god of emptiness, possibly the heaviest song I've ever heard, the riffs are so sickly and deformed but dripping with a dark grandeur and complexity, brutal vocals, awesome lyrics it really was and is a very innovative unique song, and you guys definitely did it justice.
One of my favorite MA songs, and not half bad at all, fellows! Luc put his own stamp on the vocals, which are David Vincent at his best and most guttural/evil, and I like what he did with the clean singing at the end with the layering effect that made it sound especially eerie and haunting. Good job, sir!
