Morakniv woodworking BUSHCRAFT knife # 106

The ultimate knife of 2019
The morakniv woodworking / woodcarving knife 106
Update: I gave the knife also to another person with information, that it is not a stainless steel blade, and as it was used in the kitchen as regular kitchen knife, it was left wet. The rust was quite fast. If you do not take care of the knives, this one is not good for you. Well, it is not a kitchen knife.
But the shape, blade is perfect for me - the only negative is the rust. I will check it after some months of use by another person.

Yes, for carving it can handle hard wood. For batoning of even a soft wood - I made a split with it, it did the job, but it got bent. I made it straight right there on the spot again.

I prefer the fact it's a laminated, carbon steel blade rather than stainless. If you ask the Scandinavian knife masters they recommend carbon steel. I've got 2 Mora 106's and wouldn't use anything else for general bushcraft. Obviously it doesn't make a good batoning knife, but apart from that it's an awesome piece of kit.

Thank you for sharing your experience. You are the second person helping me get rid of fear of the rusting knife. I saw what happens with carbon steel in the kitchen, so I have made a forced patina on my 106 to prevent the rust even more. But it seems, my fear of rusting knife and search for stainless Morakniv classic is meaningless :) Thanks again.
