Great video. 👍 I was just there in mid October and did some filming and it was already frozen over. Have been there a few times but this was first in late season. It's amazing any time of year.

Totally agree Michael. It was once in a lifetime. I wish I could do it all again.

I used to live/work there. Opens late in the spring due to the snow. It gets closed on the road up to Louise. Big stories from 30 years ago.

That is so awesome that your long drive paid off and you got some really great shots. Im driving to Lake Moraine from Salt lake City July 14, 2019 and hope to capture some great sunrise photos with reflections. Also taking photos along the way there at Yellowstone and Glacier Parks.

Thanks for your comment Jim. And I can see why you said it looks like I was standing in front of wallpaper. It actually looks like that! I think that because we were using a light on our video camera it adds to that fake look. But it was real! Thanks for your comment!

Hi Tim I own a Nikon D850 I had for four years I love my D850.

This has been on my bucket list now for 20 years. Can you please tell me what is the best time to go up there to have nsow and the liquid lake? I know the weather plays a huge role but just what time of the is the best? Hope you can help me out. Thank you so much

Awesome. Plan to be at the parking lot one hour before sunrise, or else the parking lot will be full and the parking people will stop all cars (11km away) from driving to the lake.

Curious as to whether or not you used a slow shutter speed to smooth out the waters? Or was it too windy on this particular morning to do so? We are heaving there in spring of 2025 and I can hardly wait!
