"Lifter keeper straighter thingy" I LOVE IT!😂 Never fails, no matter if I do a "practice run" before I start a video, somewhere I'll end up having a "brain fart". *POOF* whatever term I was going to use decided to call in sick.😁 Another great vid sir! Am looking forward to see what you find out. 😁👍

To me it looks like light rust in #1 cyl bore and in the chamber, which was next to the loose head bolt. Could have leaked in after you ran the thermoquad. Last year I had purchased a 200 dollar roller 318 and the top center head bolt hole (between # 3 @5 cyl) was cracked on both sides inside the water jacket. So far your 50 buck 318 looks good to re use, all I got was a boat anchor with cracked heads. I lightly ported them and put them on my old LA, they work fine. The pistons in the roller block came up much closer to deck height than in the 77 block. Have a good day!

Hey Robert, to answer your question, no that isn't a magnum engine that is an Mopar LA small block LA meaning light a engine. The original A engine was the 318 poly. The LA is simply lighter and has different cylinder heads and of course a narrower intake manifold and there are some casting changes made to the block which makes them lighter. This one in particular is from about 86 or 87. And is a roller lifter 318 so thank you very much. Have you for the questions for your free to ask and I want to thank you for watching the video and thank you for your comments
