Eating in a tent at any time apart from winter (when the bears are hibernating) is a big no no here. However, wolverines are a major issue during the wintertime, at least where we live. We live in northeast Alaska on the Yukon, completely off grid. But this applies to any place with hungry predators. A few years ago in Montana, a lady was dragged out of her tent by a bear and mauled to death. All she had was a snickers bar, which she forgot she had in her pocket. To all those greenhorns out there, a word to the wise: keep your food at least 100 feet away from your camp, and don’t eat where you sleep. That applies to your clothes as well, do not wipe your hands on your clothes after eating greasy bacon. You’ll attract unwanted visitors. Aside from that, it’s a great show!

How'd you know she forgot the sneakers bar was there? Not sure how she told anyone. Just say'in.
Von , you sure are in your own element when you go hunting & fishing. Beautiful to see you smile. 👍👍

There are lots of hunts you can do without a guide. That's how you learn, some years ago up and the first hunt you make you don't get anything but the next year you'll get one because you figured it out.
So nice to see you both out hunting again. Especially after a couple years ago when you were both struggling with being sick. 💕🙏🏻💕
Good morning! ❤ Nice wake up video. ;) to start the day. It's nice that you can spend time together in nature and appreciate God's creation. Hopefully you can get a Moose another day. The grouse hunting looked a little more fun and enjoyable. Have a great weekend. 🙏 It's good to see you both again.

I grew up using a open sight 22 long for Grouse hunting in Minnesota....I think it's a better way to shoot them than a shotgun which spreads bb's in the meat. 🏆👍
You have a great setup. It reminds me of one of my float trips down Birch Creek. I got a Tier I or II permit for a bull up on Preacher Creek, 100 miles downstream of the bridge on the Steese Highway. I didn't make it to Preacher Ck. Got my 47" moose at 90 mile. Using a 19' Grumman square stern with a 9.9 Hp Sears motor. The river was dropping the whole time. More then we realized. Had 4" of free board with the moose. Put the motor on the canoe and heading back upstream to the bridge, we broke one prop and 3 sheer pins. A very memorable trip.

Welcome! Glad you found us and thank you! British Columbia is also so beautiful! 🤩
I hunt the winter openings mostly to avoid other people. It's good because no sand in the meat, no bugs, no people and the meat freezes. I don't have to worry about fly eggs in the meat and I can stay out weeks. Access is easy. I leave from the house on the snowmachine pulling a big sled full of gear and grub.
