Moore Breaks Down Herbert's Plays | LA Chargers

Спорт

Prepping for the new season, Kellen Moore sat with us and dove into Justin Herbert’s plays from the past season. As Moore breaks down footage week by week, he points out all of the opportunities Herbert took with the receivers…and it goes to show that our QB is one of a kind. Stay tuned as Moore and Herbert develop this relationship that will take the Bolts to a new level.

    A top 10 offense isn't enough. Even with how terrible the run game was and how uninspired Lombardi's play calling was, the Chargers were still a top 10 offense in 2022. Clearly that wasn't enough as Lombardi was justifiably fired. With Justin Herbert, Keenan Allen, Mike Williams, Austin Ekeler, and the O-line that we have, anything short of Top 5 would be a disappointment, and I'd only consider it a good season if they're Top 3.

    Awesome content. I think you will see more separation more often as Kellen’s plays force defenders to make a choice sometimes more than once during a play. This is why sometimes his receivers are so wide open they could have enough time to set up a picnic table before the defenders can get to them.

    I’m a Cowboys fan, but Herbert became my favorite player last year when I first saw him play. I’m happy that Lombardi got fired (like Garrett calling plays and wasting Romo’s prime) and you guys got Moore, who was the latest scapegoat of Dak. Moore has a QB that can throw from under center, unlike Dak, and can make every throw in the book, while going through all his reads. He also throws his guys open and in stride. I can’t wait to watch this combo next season.

    As a Cowboys fan, this was a GREAT hire! Other Cowboys fans were quick to blame him, yes he did run a lot of curl routes which resulted in DBs jumping them and caused more INTs, but I think he'll revamp his style and ball out. His offense was #1 in Red Zone TD percentage this year and has been Top 3 in 3rd down conversions, points and total yards last 3 years. Also McCarthy looked like he made Kellen water down his style under him. Kellen ran less motion and miss direction from his first year with Mike to his last.

    If you’re a real Dallas Cowboy fan, you would know that KM was handed the OC position w/o any real coaching experience (just like JG), and his playing calling only focused on pass plays, abandoned the run b/c he didn’t know how to utilize the talent he had. His schemes incorporated option routes where every WR had to pretend to be QB and read defenses as well. QB/WR’s have to be on the same page or it’s going to be an TO. I could go on and on about these problems w/KM, but it was time for him to move on (definitely overstayed his welcome in Dallas, and should’ve been let go 2 seasons ago).

  • @PranMatic24

    @PranMatic24

    Жыл бұрын

    @@mikealdana8012 Thank you Captain Obvious that KM and JG had little coaching experience, you want a cookie for that? If you know anything about football, you would know that's normal for any NFL level receiver having to read the defenses on option routes and every team has play designs like that. Yes, the scheme had some issues, but if you're a real Cowboys fan than you know it was ultimately about talent. No one besides Lamb could create any separation, why do you think we were so desperate to find someone in the middle of the season?! Looking at OBJ and then signing TY. Once Pollard went down vs SF, the whole world saw the talent disparity. I could go on about your ridiculous KM take, nobody's perfect, for the most part he did a good job, Dak also let him down at times. We both know he's gonna be good in LA and if you don't think that, then you're just a hater who lets his bias cloud reality of what he did overall.

    JHerb rookie season he was mostly calling out plays while lining up in which his rookie stats so far one of the best years. It's best to get an OC to identify defenses schemes but calling out the plays should just go to JHerb decisions majority of plays. Doing this will let JHerb dictate the long passes for that instant lightning score which makes zJHerb one of the best deep ball passers. Letting an OC call out plays for JHerb is a lag in momentum of having DBs on their heels desperate not to get exposed down field which shows the fear in them DBs of next play towards them islands.

    . Its a shame Lombardi tried to force a check down offense that relied on defense and the running back, even before he got hurt Herbert was starting to decline. You can tell Kellen Moore actually knows what hes doing . He's smart and willing to make adjustments to put the offense in a positive direction. Where as Lombardi simply said my scheme my way deal with it. And scoring 3 points in the second half of a playoff and not slamming the door is what happens

    You can sense the lack of Joe Lombardi ideals in these throws. Talk about a Qb out executing his coordinator

    Long time Kellen fan from way back. First thing to notice, he was saying "we" when referring to a play when he was a coach for Dallas. He's already all in.

    Nobody's doughting his ability's that's not the issue here. He overthrew a lot of passes in the Jaguars loss he had 2 men open in the endzone and threw the ball way over a wide-open Allen in the zone. There is no excuse for him not being able to move the ball down the field in the second halph you can't blame this all on the offensive coordinator. How can you only score 3 points the whole second halph ??? After scoring 27 in the first halph ???

    He accounted for 30 points ..more than Bengals in every gm they played. He did his job. Had 0 turnovers. Kicker needs to make kick. Defense needs to hold. Justin carried this entire team

    I would take this QB over any QB playing the game today. The majority of Herbert's best throws are when he gets out of the pocket on the run. I hope kellen gets the RPO game activated and scripted a LOT more for Herbert's game. Please keep Keenan!
