Even though Magnum at Cedar Point was the first full circuit coaster to exceed the 200 ft mark, this was actually the first shuttle coaster to exceed the 200 ft mark... and this coaster opened 6 years before Magnum did.

I just love how at 0:50 it's dead quiet then CLUNK and everyone's screaming :P
this coaster has an important place coaster history - - held roller coaster height record from 1983-1996 (!) - most gs (6.2), even though Thriller's circular loops seem to have pulled 6.5 - early "boomerang"-style coaster (Vekoma's Boomerang is from 1984), variation on Schwarzkopf's "Shuttle Loop" from 1977 - precursor to so many shuttle coasters. - unique pretzel loop
The most intense ride to ever exist... that pretzel loop alone would scare anyone

I have no idea why they made the spikes SO massive when the pretzel knot wasn’t that big. Guess they REALLY didn’t want it to EVER valley! I actually wonder if this was one of Vekoma’s main inspirations for the Boomerang, since the first one opened the year after Moonsault: 1984. Looks like a fun ride that was really ahead of its time. Shame it’s gone, but at least Fugi Q still keeps one of the trains on display in the park.

went there this year.waited for an hour and a half to get on fujiyama which got shut down because of the cold, then waited 3 hours to get on dodonpa, greatest thing i've ever done in my life that coaster was so fast. by the time we got off that, all the queues were closed so we rode a couple of the less popular rides. they sucked. be prepared to stand for a long long time because you will be. and don't get the all day free pass, just pay per ride becaue you'll be lucky to even get 3 in.

What time of year and day of the week did you go?
WORTH IT ALL
I honestly think they built this one just to hold the height record for a few years. The unique inversions and supports make it great but a "boomerang" coaster that pulls 6 g's doesn't sound much fun.
This looks like it would snap my neck going out of that loop.
These look like more fun then Boomerangs.
Holy shit no wonder its defunct 6.2 G's?! If that was on RCT3 It would be 'ultra insane' haha, still wnat to go on this...
weird but cool .strange!
It is fun to watch. Probably not go on it for real?
It's a boomerang coaster like Sidewinder in Hershey park, 1:06 it's a pretzel
Well, not a lot of negative G's isn't always good. up to -2 is good, but further than that can also cause pain and injuries.
They should remake a smaller version of this coaster...
This was the world's first coaster to be over 200ft. and if you say magnum xl 200 is, then yeah that is the world's first full circuit coaster to break the 60m barrier (200ft)
