Stefan Lakatos followed the music style of Moondog, his friend. And is using the Trimba, an instrument invented by Moondog. Thanks for continuing the legacy.
It is always a pleasure to hear people howling on the moon like that. Love it!
I remember fondly his appearances in Manhattan sidewalks on my way to work 1960s ?😊

rip Stefan thank you for continuing the legacy
We had the chance tonight in Lyon (france)to enjoy a concert with stefan Lakatos and his Trimba . It was in the very intimate @superspectives festival. A caviar for the soul !
Enjoy this delightful piece! 20th-century American composer Louis Thomas Hardin, better known as "Moondog," wrote contrapuntal and percussion-driven pieces. He was blind, largely self-taught as a composer, and performed regularly on flute and percussion. Great performance!

Perfect performance for today! Thank You
Captured perfectly.
magnifique pour les oreilles
extraordinary and so delightful
I think Moondog was a saint like Saint Anthony, a kind of a urban hermit 20th century saint. So he use and compose music to fight his demons.
So good. ❤
Thank you so much for recording, and sharing this amazing man of so many talents. Moondog.

I know of a women who saw Moondog as a genius. She had his illegitimate daughter that he only met a few times. He never publicly acknowledged her. She is a famous Harpist today. None of her other kids had a talent for music but Moondog’s daughter had a natural talent for it.,
grazie internet.

I believe the percussionist is someone who looks like Moondog but is not actually him. They may be playing one of his compositions tho.

Actually he died at 1999. Musicians do a really great anyway, and the percusionist is using an authentic instrument created by Moondog

It's Stefan Lakatos, a friend of Moondog, to whom Moondog explained how to build the trimba he invented.

Better than Avengers!!
A Moondog emulator. I'd call it "Suncat"
I always wondered: How did he compose moondog since he was blind? Did he write the music on paper, or did he dictate it orally to other musicians?
Can anyone tell me how he makes the rhythmic knocking sound? Ive watched all the videos on KZread and watched his hands, and I don’t see what is making the sound.

He is hitting the shaker on the rim of the drum.
Wonderful! First time I saw a video of Moondog. Can anyone say when this recording dates to? [EDIT:] Aww, too bad - I see that the performer is Stefan Lakatos. He channels Moondog well and honors him with this performance but this is not Moondog. Thanks, Robin and Irene.
