Moondog - Stamping ground (1970) original

"Stamping ground"was included in the sampler double album "Fill Your Head With Rock" (CBS 1970). Ιn the beggining of the song Moondog is reciting one of his epigrams:
#moondog #psychrock #bestpsychrock60s70s
"Machines were mice, and men were lions.
Once upon a time.
Now that is the opposite,
it's twice upon a time."

Thank you for this, Miss. This piece has special meaning to me, as apparently my Grandfather met The Viking of New York himself, The All Powerful Moondog, and chatted for a while, smoked a cigar with him, and he apparently asked my grandfather if he had any favorite pieces by him, and He said he always particularly loved Stamping Ground.

Kralingen Pop Rotterdam 1970: John Peel was there, and he played this song every hour or so (also: the long and winding road). A spooky sound, then and even now. Shapow for Peel and Moondog and Rotterdam!!!

DUDE: I'm saying if he knows I'm a fuck- up, then why does he still leave me in charge of getting back his wife? Because he fucking doesn't want her back, man! He's had enough! He no longer digs her! It's all a show! But then, why didn't he give a shit about his million bucks? I mean, he knew we didn't hand off his briefcase, but he never asked for it back.
