I am so glad I got this bike during the Black Friday sale. Bike, extra battery, fenders, helmet, chain lock, and water bottle for $1300. I’ve had zero issues with the fenders. I don’t plan to unlock my bike, as I’ll be off-road most of the time, so I’m hoping for a little better mileage than you got. My only question is will both batteries charge when both are hooked up to the bike? If not, I’m going to start looking for an extra charger.

Good idea@@scotthardesty, Only being 1000W total but having the option of double peak pwr from the throttle, it should cruise economically on flat ground and with a tailwind. Maybe best to drop PAS to 18mph (or less) when uphill or fighting headwinds to allow for some muscle assist? My plan is an upgrade to a 750W/1100peak 80nm folder. SHreddie bumped 48V hubs with 52V batteries for more speed. So, could a 500W/36V front hub do the same in a 48V system...? Paralleling 48V fully charged batteries requires no 'blender' if they're hard wired and charged together...

I have this Mooncool bike and had NO problem with the fenders. Just follow the directions for mounting them. In the video, it looks like you didn't mount the front fender with the bolt that is the same mounting point as the headlight. Both my fenders mounted easily and didn't rub on the tires. Also, I didn't think the bike pedalled very hard with no power assist. Did you pump up the tires to the recommended 20 psi ? I love the bike and have no issues. And...it came well packaged and in perfect condition.

@@denniseheim5875 It seems the written directions showed me connecting the front fender behind the bracket. I did notice in the video the angle of the arms so I am going to connect it to the where the headlight is mounted. I will have to purchase longer bolts and raise that back fender/rack up with washers to get it to clear the tire. I could have just gotten a messed up set, either way, I will make it work. Those tires can actually go up to 30lbs psi and I had them at 22lbs. I appreciate the input, and even with the issues, I still really like this bike.

Excellent review as usual, Scott. I trust your honesty and completeness when you do ebike tests. Those Mooncool factory range values are really not very noteworthy. A range of 30-45 in Class 2 single battery, or 80 miles in Class 2 dual battery is less than Aventon. Aventon Aventure 2 in Class 3 settings is expected to go 6o miles with only one battery. I am range testing mine right now in eco mode, and have gone 15 miles using only 11% of the battery. Weather hasn't been good, so I'm delayed finishing the test. My earlier first range test on the Aventure 2 in the highest PAS, while trying to hit top speeds the entire time, with some 100% throttle use on hills, yielded 44 miles, compared to similar riding in your video review that yielded just 22 miles on the first battery, and 35 miles using up BOTH batteries. I can't be sure yet, but I think in eco mode, using no throttle and on flatter terrain, this Aventure 2 bike will exceed the dual battery Mooncool's advertised 80 miles range easily (which in this review turned out to be 35 miles, not 80), and it performs better (as a Class 3) while doing it, even if the Mooncool is dual motor (Class 2). The Mooncool does not get you to the legal Class 3 speed limit of 28 mph, the Aventon Aventure 2 easily gets you to the legal limit as a Class 3. The only advantage of Mooncool is a slightly lower base price, but my Aventure 2 came with some of the equipment as standard (like fenders --- metal, not Mooncool's plastic, and a back rack) that Mooncool will charge extra for. The Aventon has all lights integrated, no manual switches like those taillights on Mooncool, and brake lights / self-cancelling turn signals are standard on Aventure 2. Aventure 2 also has multiple frame sizes at no extra cost, to accommodate a wider height range of rider. To recharge my Aventure 2 battery takes 5 hours, not 6-8 hours as required for the Mooncool (for each battery). For slightly more money, the Aventon is really a better buy. Opting out on Mooncool fenders to save money, people might get goose poop on them. 😁 I had a regular bike years ago that had no fenders. I got mud all over my back one day riding it. Never again. I bought fenders for it the next week.

Thank you Ray for the support. When it comes to the range test, I am used to only getting 1/2 or less then what is advertised. Those distances are normally with a 160lb rider, riding at PAS 1, on flat land with the bike locked to 20mph. As you know, I am 220-225 and I abuse these bikes in the review. My Aventure 2 is still my favorite 26" Fat tire bike (with a torque sensor) but this MC3 might be my favorite cadence sensor bike. I will get those fenders figured out. I am thinking about doing a distance test with this bike in AWD the entire time. I don't expect to it go very far and I cannot wait to test this thing in the snow. I appreciate the support!

@@scotthardesty I weigh 215lb, and am 6'5". I'm not light, young, or aerodynamic. lol The figures in my post are not a standard 160lb rider. And I'm using the large-frame version of the Aventure 2. I did my abuse in the first range test I did with top PAS. I don't want to admit my average speed on that test, but you can probably imagine it because you have one and know its capability. Now I'm trying the feather touch approach in eco mode. With only 11% battery used, I've gone 15 miles. I'm sure I'll surpass the 80 miles advertised for Mooncool dual battery, just saying.

I get what you are saying. I have reviewed a couple of really nice lite weight ebikes. One if my favorites is the Velotric T1ST weighing only 36lbs. My first video with this bike was on a MTB trail. That's where you can really feel the power of the 2nd motor. Also if you you are on the beach and ride in sand alot. I can also assume this thing will be a beast in the snow (looking forward to testing it out). But for the type of riding I did today, I agree that the 2nd motor is not a necessity. I might have to do another video with it in AWD the entire time to see how that performs. You know I love a good mtb trail so I will check it out! Thanks for watching!

The proper way to use the 2 battery setup is to use them both together. I think after you drained the main battery end then plugged in the second battery, the drained battery was sucking some power from the fresh battery therefore lessening the range from that second charged battery . Maybe someone else could comment and confirm or deny this theory.
