I feel like there are so, so many museum archives that could benefit from Brady visiting.
I was born in Huntsville. As a kid I thought all towns must have Saturn 5's just sitting proudly on display beside the highway ;) Cool place.

Flushing Meadows Park, Queens, New York, across from where the Mets play, I'd see models of the rockets used in the space program. These were what remained from the 2nd of two World Fairs at that location, that was 1964-65. The 1st one that was at that location was 1939-40.
Roll Tide brother (saw the note in the description).

You two should do a walk through of the museum and just record yourselves geeking out. Even as a live stream it would be fun to watch ;)

I was there the day Destin sent the first Dinonauts to the Moon! It was a glorious time.
IIRC, Mattingly did not get sick prior to the Apollo 13 mission, he was exposed to someone sick with german measles and was replaced on the mission as a precaution. He never did contract the disease.

I noticed that the glove may have been Irwin's before being assigned to Mattingly. The name Irwin had been crossed out. See 6:02.
Oh MY! Apollo 15 was my favorite Lunar mission and these artifacts are amazing to see. I literally got tears in my eyes when he brought up the tool holder from the rover.
The metal mesh on the A7-LB gloves is called Chromel-R.
Can't wait for the Genesis rock! It comes from the land of confusion, after all!

I hope you got more videos from that trip! Fascinating!
what ever you do, don't snap your fingers while wearing that glove!
This is awesome. I have giving a talk in history class on rockets on Friday and Apollo is a big topic I cover. Right now I am 3D printing the interstage for my Saturn V model in 1:82 scale. It's at 97% after 11hours of printing time making it the longer and heaviest part so far and I am still missing the first stage.

You're 3D printing rocket ship models? When I was a substitute teacher they never let me do stuff like that. Nary a 3D printer to be seen! D:

@@smaakjeks it's my own printer and filament. I am actually running out of a spool on this project. I am maybe like 500-600gram into. For my 12th grade project I built a printer from a Chinese kit and have been using it since for some time.

I've met Dave Scott a few times. He's a nice guy! (My wife is a planetary scientist whose PhD advisor worked in NASA in the late '60s onward.)
This glove used to be James Irwin's! You can see his name strikeout on the tag.
Thanks for resisting the temptation to snap your fingers :)
Did you go back to your hotel and put on your Speedmaster right away? I feel like that would only be fitting, haha.
We'll get you to space, someday, Brady!

Ooh Brady, hope you’re meeting up with Destin and maybe doing some collaborating.

What about that beautiful olive-green Smith-Corona typewriter in the background at 6:20? What's the history of that?

cool, but I always thought the glove was part of the spacesuit , ie one piece !
The glove has velcro, but I can't see where the vacuum seal is. Interesting to see such an ancient technology as sewing on such a high tech artefact.

It's an overglove. The pressure glove is underneath. It provides extra protection, but it's bulky. You might remove it (for example) in the spacecraft for better access to controls.

oh collab with SmarterEveryDay inc.
It is safe to say there is a Smarter Every Day collab in the can.
Of course they have to use the weird official name "lunar rover," when regular people all call it a "moon buggy."
