The kaiju fights between Khonshu & Ammit was insane! Same with Layla's badass debut as the Scarlet Scarab. Plus, we finally get to see Jake Lockley. What a week to end Moon Knight and segue into Multiverse of Madness!

Jake was the personality that took the physical abuse from marc's mom. Marc created steven so he didnt have to deal with her abuse, and with steven unaware of her abusive side, steven created jake to be aware during the time of the actual physical abuse, and then be able to switch back to marc/steven after the abuse occurred, keeping it away from both personalities. Thus, jake is violent, jake isnt very talkative/interested in anything other than achieving his violent goals. It's literally the only world he's lived in, an abusive/violent one. Thus, he is the perfect avatar for konshu and would still have a deal with him. Jake craves/needs violence to regulate.

I bet some people/systems actually have alters with similar roles to Jake. I can't imagine what it would be like to live like that. It sounds so horrible. Imagine most of your life is literally just violence. Of course you would fight back but you would also probably get hurt a lot, it would be stressful and just not something you would want to live through. Black out, a fight, black out, another fight. I hope there is more to Jakes life than that...😅

@@sleepyallen5993 In the comics, Jake Lockley and Steven Grant setup an intervention to talk to Marc Spector about his "Killing innocent people in Foreign countries" problem. Seems like they swapped Jake Lockley and Marc Spector's roles in the MCU. As Marc Spector was meant to be the violent killer and the other two are trying to hold him back from crossing the line. (He wanted to become Moon Knight to seek redemption for his past of killing innocent people for money. He see's being Moon Knight as being trapped in Purgatory, he's already dead and needs to pay for his sins to get to "Heaven").

I'm not judging this by episodes... I'm judging the entire series as one. This show could've easily been in theaters and would've done well. Phenomenal acting from Oscar Isaac and Excellent writing and directing.🏆

Seems like she hesitated on one like she was going to release some other god for a couple seconds.

Khonshu didn’t need to seal a new contract with Jake. When Marc made his contract with Khonshu all of his alters were bound by the contract, which was likely one of the reasons Khonshu wanted him so much. We know that because Steven was able to summon the suit and become Mr. Knight without agreeing to any kind of contract with Khonshu. Khonshu didn’t really release them at all he just stopped talking to Marc and Steven. As far as they’d know he was gone.

True, but I think the idea was that he tricked mark and Steven by actually ending the contract (since they would probably be able to tell if he hadn't, and since gods have a thing with spoken agreements and usually have to keep their word). He then either waited for or caused jake to come out and came to him separately to make a new contract with him, which still applies to mark and steven just like marks deal applied to steven and jake, only now jake is the one khonshu typically uses as moon knight rather than mark. All the stuff khonshu is doing with mark and steven's minds (or mind, not sure which is more appropriate) is to keep them off-balance and allow him to use jake more easily. At least that's how I see it.

@@2x_Rey Khonshu simply took it away to make them so they’d believe he’d actually freed them. It was all part of Khonshu’s con. He’s always known about Jake and Khonshu was very specific in the way he worded things. It was always “both” Marc and Steven when he was speaking of freeing them. He specifically used the word “both”, which is a word specifically for the use of 2 of something. Khonshu is a manipulator and he never stopped. He knew he could “keep his word” to the letter of what he said and still have “The body” for his avatar because of Jake.

or khonshu could just end the contract. I mean marc would want to make sure the contract has actually ended. there is tawaret who would be an expert on the topic and steven is a scholar on the topic of egyptian gods as well. then he makes another contract with jake. that would be so much easier. also there is nothing to show that marc or steven couldn't make their costume reappear if the contract hasn't really ended. I believe khonshu actually kept his word and ended the contract. then started it again with jake.

I would've preferred the ending, after they revealed Jake Lockley, to have a flashback reveal of all what Jake did during those time where Marc/Steven blacked out and Jake was the one in control

I will agree to that. I loved the ending, but I feel like the early part of the episode had a pacing issue, and I would have also loved to see Jake fight at least once. Then again, it could be because Jake fights like the Punisher, and the show is M, not MA or R rated. All in all, a solid finale though!

The 2 fish in the tank is also a metaphor for the 2 consciousnesses in "unity" (consciously sharing the same body, or tank). So maybe, if they meet and find a way to co-exist with Jake, we'll get a scene with 3 fish in the tank

I interpreted it as a metaphor for "now it's the two of them being kept in the dark" in contrast with the beginning where there is only one fish and only Steven is being kept in the dark. Something along the lines of "being kept from the dangers of the ocean by being in the aquarium" which translates to "being kept from the dangers of their life as the avatar of khonsu by making it seem like they're living a normal life." hope that makes sense

@@jylo1809 I wouldn't say you or the idea is wrong, but there is one thing that has me scratching my head.. the switch (and is it related?). Remember, Gus disappears and we never find out how or why. We know that either Marc or Jake went and bought a new fish. But then how is Gus back? Wait.. for real just had this thought: both of them are currently trapped in their head, Jake is in complete control. If Gus being gone means Gus was killed (somehow) then how is he back? And the leg restraint could be alluding to the idea that they are being held there, mentally suppressed (by Jake and/or khonshu)

I love how by the last episode Marc and Steven finally learn to co-exist and can transition seamlessly depending on who's skills are currently required. Then Jake gets thrown into the mix and we're back to square one

Well that is pretty much Moon Knight in a nutshell. Except Jake is the one you especially don't fuck with. I'm pretty sure unless we're counting Khonshu as a Personality we have 2 more main ones to go. In the comics, Jake is the one that committed the act of cutting Bushman's face off. Which Khonshu continued to taunt Marc for and try to get him to do it again. Jake is what Khonshu ideally wants as his enforcer, it's just that in trying to get Jake he also got the other personalities. Moon Knight actually did end up having a public identity in the Comics, it's just that no one is willing to fuck with him as a Civilian. In Season 2 I hope we see more of Moon Knight from all the personalities and have to potentially deal with Jake throwing a monkey wrench into the Good Cop Bad Cop they have going.

I think Jake is a very efficient avatar, by ending the series with him taking the mantel of khonshu avatar is perfect, he could just kill anyone with ease and no drama.

This was a damn good show. I was a bit worried how they'd do the finale, but I was happy in the end. And Jake was the cherry on top for this finale. 💛

After the last memory in the bedroom is revealed to Steven, he says "all this time I thought I was the original" and has this moment where he realises he was a made-up character all this time, living in a world where he was ignorant of Marc, the real character. Then in the last scene with Jake, we realise that Marc is also ignorant of a character living within him. Although Marc might not be made-up, he is still in the same boat as Steven was in episode 1. It's like a paradox

What I love the most is that the post credit scene leaves the door open for another season but at the same time ends things really well and Unlike Loki and Wandvision, moonknight started from scratch essentially (i.e. no prior character development) think it was a really great intro to the character, Oscar Isaac and Leyla were stand outs

I don’t understand the complaints about the CGI in this show. I thought it was amazing, especially giant Konshu and Ammit. Layla as the Scarlet Scarab looked great too

I remember when this was announced like 2 years ago, I got so hyped. I knew it would be my favourite out of all the miniseries. It did NOT disappoint.

Great series. The nagging questions I have are, "How did Harrow escape from being Khonshu avatar?" and "Why would Harrow be more traumatized by what he did for Khomshu than what he's doing for Ammit?"

If I had to guess, killing people at the behest of a God doesn't feel good psychologically, especially if such killings are retribution and always come after the crime. Harrow likely felt that killing for Khonshu was meaningless.

Maybe he somehow communicated with Ammit and begged her to free him. In the end when he was acting so completely submissive to Ammit, I actually felt a little sorry for him. He didn't seem to have any will to fight for himself. He was ready to die for her on the spot. He might have been a good person in another live, if he had had a healthy way to express his desire for what he thought would be justice and safety for everyone. On the other hand, he blamed Marc just like his mother did, which made me mad. So maybe not.

I'm guessing since Harrow doesn't have split personalities like Marc/Steve/Jake/etc. He'd have witnessed everything Khonshu wanted from him whilst the Jake persona took on all the *real* dirty work and is pretty into it.

As a person with Dissociative Identity Disorder, I loved having a marvel "hero" with a mental condition similar to mine. It's not completely accurate, like I can't say that I black out and beat the shit out of people with no recollection, but my condition is different from others that have it. Either way, this was an amazing portrayal and this series was absolutely marvelous.

I love that they didn’t reveal Jake Lockley properly early on, only teased him. Like he is this serial killer that the protagonist can’t catch.

Everyone is missing a huge point in the finale credit scene , Arthur Harrow sees Konshu, before he was unable to. That is because konshu fooled EVERYONE , he knew he would get locked up and that Marc would have to free him but in freeing him he is now in the MCU as a whole. He’s no longer 70% in overvoid and 30% MCU so that’s going to be tricky and definitely think Randall is alive and will be shadow knight no doubts. They didn’t show him drown or even remotely something to do that chances are he survived the cave and was found by his foster parents and boom.

I think Harrow saw Konshu because he received Ammits power. He didn’t have her powers before because she was sealed, just Marc lost Moon Knights powers when Konshu was sealed.

I'm not sure Khonshu ever intended on making Layla his avatar outside of that moment when he was recently freed and Marc was fully dead, split between the Duat and field of reeds. Then he didn't have any other options. However it seems the other times he simply implied he wanted to take Layla as his avatar, using exact words to trick him. Really he just had Jake in his back pocket.

i liked the easter egg where jake shot harrow thrice...lke 3 known personalities and harrow had earlier shot marc twice...2 known ones but my fav was the license plate saying SPKTR which might imply steven and marc opened Spector Corp and the limo belonged to that love ur vids btw

By far the best MCU tv series so far, and a spectacular finale even tho it was a little shorter than other series, but the final battle between Marc, Steven and Harrow while ahmet and khonshu fought as well so freakin crazy and amazing for the budget and cgi they had left, but the transitioning during Marc and Steven fighting in the air with Harrow was by far the craziest and coolest thing to happen in the MCU for a fight scene in my opinion, but I’m so hyped for tomorrow watching dr.strange into the multiverse of madness !!!!

I loved every minute of the Moon Knight series and this was by far the best Marvel/Disney+ show that was also the best Finale I’ve seen it answered a lot of questions and also added some new questions can’t wait to see where they take Moon Knight’s character next

I loved how Marvel are telling their stories in a unique way. From Wanda Vision to Moon Knight, they reimagine how storytelling can be translated from comic book to tv. Love it

In all fairness to Khonshu, there were a lot of people who took advantage of Marc and all his personalities. Khonshu just makes an agreement with “them” to keep them safe and alive to be the protector of travelers of the night. Just my two cents.

Yeah, like it’s at least more ethnical to actually be protecting people rather than just taking violent jobs for money. And bringing someone back to life is nothing to sneeze at. Khonshu is twisted but technically he does ultimately have good goals and a solid code. He’d rather die than submit to Ammit in any way.

In Egyptian myth, the earliest description of Khonsu is a ferocious cannibal moon god who hunted down other gods and fed on them for power. It wasn't until the new kingdom that his image was rehabilitated into a vengeful protector and part of the powerful Theban trinity along with his father Amun and his mother Mut. Coincidentally, in Marvel comics, Amun also goes by the name Demagorge the god eater as one of the primordial first gods to inhabit Earth.

@@dereckallen1856 Christ has not been shown in Marvel. Neither has Satan although he is treated like a legendary character among the demons of hell. There's a superhero who went by the title Son of Satan but his father's real name is the demon lord Marduke Curios. He usurped his father's land in hell for a while before eventually abandoning that duty, still he kept a small chunk of land and so now when he exorcises demons he can look them straight in the eye and say "I'll send you straight to my own personal hell."

I loved the mafia style ending. Konshu in the back of the limo wearing the suit. The hitman driver rolling down the divider, and the realization before death. It gave a lot of Godfather vibes, Konshu made an offer they couldn't refuse.

The finale was fulfilling. I was worried how they were going to make it complete with so many things left off at the end of Ep.5. Although, I think it would have been much better if it was 8 episodes series. Could have been more fighting, especially Arther vs the 5 Avatars in the pyramid.

I hope they do a season 2 for Moon Knight. I enjoyed the series and it felt like there was so much more story they could've told if there was more time.

This was one of the best Marvel shows i have ever seen..... The acting, the story, and introducing future characters in the best way ever... Jake Lockley was an amazing cameo!!!

@@andrewgarfield9898 tbf daredevil is a blind man who uses his senses as his abilities. Moon knight utilizes his mental disabilities. I do give daredevil more credit as it also had a longer run time. Who knows maybe they'll team up in a future film. I'd love to see that unfold. Or like if another civil war happens I'd want a moon knight vs daredevil fight.

12:59 Actually, after Ammit was trapped in Harrow’s body, the implication was that she would also die when he was killed. That’s exactly the reason Khonshu wanted Marc to kill them, and then got Jake to do it.

I wish season 2 begins with the unseen scenes of Jake Lockley in season 1 in Jake's point of view, as flashbacks, and then episode 1 should revolve around Jake's life and end with a subtle clue that Steven finds out about his existence. 🤞🏼

I also think when Mark and Stephen are in the psych ward at the end is because that is when Jake is in charge. Great breakdown man as always!

I just watched the episode again for the third time and when Steven made the deal, Khonshu specifically said I will set you two free and not I will set you free. He was aware of the of third Jake Lockley personality while they were weren't as you see in the post-credit seen.

Yess !! Always read and thought of Moonkight comics as a Deadpool wanna be but now I see all the difference and I have become such a fan of this new MCU hero!! Also in the ending credits they tease Jakes visual before the end credit ! They show front profile of all three in their costumes 👍🏼 thought you where going to talk about that

I so feel like even in the early episodes, when Steven would do the weird eye thing and black out when in danger and come to randomly was Jake. And In the first episode he is driving the van really well and driving backwards

The episode is so great, I'm still not over it with an ending like that and that end credit scene tho 🔥🔥

What I love the most is that the post credit scene leaves the door open for another season but at the same time ends things really well

I really liked this series. I have never picked up a comic book in my life but I enjoy the MCU very much. I dont take it too seriously, but I do appreciate the consistency & attention to detail in every movie & show. I am confused about at least 1 thing in Moon Knight, & maybe someone could help me understand - why Jake Lockley's heart wasn't present when the scales weighed marc and stevens hearts in the afterlife? What am I missing?

I think it was because he was still trapped in the coffin, and the goddess got the hearts from the bodies, and since he wasnt there she couldnt get it, but I think the scales couldnt balance with more than one heart anyways so it didnt matter, but I could be wrong thats just what seems plausible to me

I was waiting for your video as soon as I finished watching the episode. I wish they had shown a bit more of Harrow's backstory like they usually do with their villains. I'm really curious about how he became her avatar even though she seemed to not even know his name. I think Marc went back for Steven because Steven saved him from all the emotional pain, which would've lead Marc to probably kill himself, that's why he said you saved us". Its like Steven is the pacifist on one extreme end of the spectrum, with Marc in the middle and Jake on the other extreme end of the spectrum being really violent. They need to come back for a 2nd second with Khonshu as the full on villain and Jake as maybe an anti-hero or even a villain. I was a little disappointed at how rushed the episode felt but the Jake Lockley finally out in the open more than made up for it.

I was freaking out with the post credit scene

Loved the series…if we get more. If we don’t get more Moon Knight, then I think they blew it big time. If it’s one and done, I’d rather have had full blown Moon Knight in the prime of his super hero career. But if this was just the introduction and we get more Moon Knight as a bonafide hero, then I love the series!!

Definitely need to see him interact with other characters now!!! Love this series and the way they were able to work together at the end was so amazing and funny! Deadpool Vibez! Can’t wait to see more

I don't think it's that Konshu didn't free all of Marc's alters. I think Jake serves Konshu willingly. It really seems like the kind of thing he would do, from what little we have seen of him and know about him. He seems to really enjoy what he does, seems comfortable with Konshu. They're allies of convenience, as long as Konshu lets Jake kill with reckless abandon, he will continue to be a willing avatar.

Even in the comics Jake is the only one who is completely for being controlled by Khonshu. Jake just wants to kill and inflict pain. He's a metaphysical representation of all the abuse and all of the Bad Shit floating in Marc's brain. Everyone else there is either Neutral to somewhat against Khonshu, but Jake in this case is the one that Khonshu ideally wants as a Servant. In the comics it's even speculated that Jake is more of a free agent. He just serves whoever can give him violence.

I really liked how they wrapped things up, I had a small amount of concern they wouldn't be able to pull it off the way they left things in episode 5 but, whew, that was a lot of fun. My personal favorite bit: Kid: Are you an Egyptian superhero? Layla: (very slight pause) I am.

That episode was just amazing!!!! I can't wait for season two!!!!!

If you notice at the end credits, where the mummy turns into MK and Mr. Knight, before the transformation to MK now we can see Jake being wrapped by the bandages. Through out the episodes the transformation was hollow but for this episode now we see a face. That's Jake's suit.

Did anyone notice that in the scene where jake lockley drives away from the asylum there are 3 moons 2 small ones on the roofs of buildings and the 3rd main moon showing each of the 3 personalities! I think it’s a great way of showing what happened in the episode 19:09

I really enjoyed this finally.

I was waiting for them to introduce Jake Lockley since ep 1. By ep 6 I gave up but was still looking for an easter egg or something. I definitely wasn't expecting a last-minute reveal like that

I loved the Roles Royce limousine at the end. Classy.
