It works. over the years, how many times has jake lockley's cab been smashed, hijacked or at least needed to list "galactus" on an insurance claim? he has to share a badge with mohinder. insurance claims, skipped fares. and you know who skips fares? superheroes. "No Pockets" or "I'm blind and forgot my wallet" or "leifield didn't draw this one" from a merc who is clearly slathered in pockets and pouches (we think. never saw him from the knee down) Ben Grimm was a solid fare. he's still a solid. Spidey's broke. Stephen Strange does things to hookers. Luke Cage just says 'put it on my tab' leaving you to wonder if he actually has one. Everyone in the MCU owes Moon Knight money. it's probably a suit against Stark and the avengers that gives grant the money to play billionaire grant.

I love moon knight his mr knight costume is badass and even taskmaster has stated that he would not copy moon knight since he hurt himself rather than dodging or blocking hits

Moon Knight is indeed a cool and interesting character and I have been a fan for a long time. But I know disney is going to screw this up. The only way to do Moon Knight right is to have something that is violent in a way that disney+ won't go near. What Moon Knight fans are going to get is a watered down version of the character the love.

Everyone owes moon knight money. do you know how many cabs he's gone through as the avengres wreck new york over and over. every cab you've ever seen wrecked in the MCU was probably jake lockley's even in africa. "Sorry no pockets" a favorite excuse for people in hero jammies to skip a fare. Steven Grant's fortune likely comes of a suit against the avengers. for all the busted cabs. but there's still the matter of the fare to the shwarma place.

Moon Knight has teamed up with The Punisher occasionally (and even fighting him). In fact, Moon Knight is one of the few Marvel characters Frank really doesn't mind to work with because they both kill criminals.

He's just too weird and unorthodox and old-school for mainstream popularity. And the whole Egyptian mythology thing just doesn't seem to resonate with mainstream audiences. Edit: but perhaps that will change with the MCU adaptation of him. It worked for other characters.

No, Batman is a hero, dark and violent... but still a super hero after all. Moon Night is an obscure crazy monster whose violence rate can be compared with The Spider (pulp hero) or with "good" monsters like Spawn, Werewolf by Night or Venom.

If Batman were Dr. Fate. that'd be more moon knight's role. no moon? he has all the power of a licensed and bonded new york (and london probably) city cab driver. full moon? demigod. in between? yeah batman with some doomtech armor. but i tell you this. do NOT get into Jake Lockley's cab. unless you're prepared to pay. "no pockets" just doesn't fly, not even for people in superhero jammies. not since rob leifield. always pay the boatman for safe passage through the underworld. and safe passage by night.

I like how in a later series they addressed it as not real DID but the influence of Konshu effecting his personality. Many Egyptian gods and other mythic characters have different aspects and can act differently depending on the aspect displayed in different stories. Kind of like how MK himself changes every time he gets a new writer. I find this deeply ironic.

Jake takes the hits. even in the universe where he's just got mental issues and that's all that drives him to be a hero, he is still able to take the punches and keep coming for more. because jake takes the hits. and i think Marc takes them for Steven. his progression is such that jake, who drives cab, listens, and otherwise absorbs all the pain and damage that would stop marc from doing the thing. steven is manifested so there's one of them that can still function as a person, at least some of the time. to be the face, behind which hides the damaged and beaten mercenary behind whom hides a cabbie who can drive but that's about it, because he holds all the pain. ultimately the one who decides who can get in and who has to get out. yes. his super power is being a licenced and bonded cab driver. dedicated to the safe passage of those who travel at night. i expect you'll see three versions of moon knight in the future. one where he's literallly the avatar of an old god and just has hang ups diguised as a rich man disguised a s a merc disguised as a superhero disguised as a cab driver. Spectacular. One in which he's just a superhero with a focus, and he's doomtech and starktech skills and hangups and the gods are still banned from earth Amazing and one in which he's a cab driver, and if he pick you up, you're crossing into the underworld. Web-of. this allows him to show up anywhere, however the multiverse sorts out.

I could imagine MK telling Parker: "You, a sticky kid, tutored by billionaire philanthropist Tony Stark. Friend of not one but two 108 year old vets, an actual wizard, a bird guy, a cat dude, a russian triple agent, an ancient alien "god", and a space cowboy.... but a guy talking to the moon is what you find weird?"

Moon Knight is such a unique character with his multiple personality. I love it because he makes them all work out for him.

Considering how brutal the umbrella academy series is(there’s an entire scene of five murdering people with an axe), I trust Jeremy Slater to not water down the brutal aspects of the vigilante

Why do I see a Black Widow or Winter Soldier cameo in an episode of Moon Knight when the show gets released? And this series when it comes out would be the perfect opportunity to introduce Wolverine if he imagines any avenger or other hero. Even though technically Wolverine is a vigilante. Pretty much impossible but since the MCU already established the multiverse or will; Hugh Jackman could appear as Logan as a former partner during a war.

Personally I like the take of the phases of the moon simply changing the types of powers he has and his personality. Being the most powerful at a full moon is logically sound and all, but its so over used imho. The New Moon is still a massive conduit of energy and power. But its simply the other side of the coin. New Moon and Full Moon Knight could be two different entities that he has to make peace with in order to fully embrace his multi-personality disorders. It could easily explain Konchu's purpose in exfoliating and manipulating his multi-personalities, having the New Moon and Full Moon phases be the actual tests and trails that Moon Knight must overcome and conquer. Implying that Konchu is a driving source of the multi-personality disorders because of the natural state of the Moon's phases. "Only when you have proven your worth through the many phases of self, can you hold the true power of the many phases of the Moon."

Dude has a lot of powers in the comics. Powers like lunakinesis (control different world’s moons and things made out of moon rock including mjolnir), geokinesis (controlling weather as an offset of controlling the moon and orbital astral bodies), power absorption (can absorb the super powers of other people not limited to the Iron Fist, the Sorcerer Supreme, Ghost Rider's Spirit of Vengeance, and was seemingly able to absorb the Starbrand and the Phoenix Force), necromancy (able to control an army of undead mummies), phase transformation (intangibility), self sustenance (like not needing oxygen), lunar strength (increased strength at night, more powerful the more full the moon is), moon empowerment (the supermoon feeds into the strength level of his abilities. Giving him enough power to best the likes of Earths greatest champions single handed), and immortality. Dude even was the host of the Phoenix force at one time.

That used to be it. new moon, all the powers of a licensed and bonded new york city cab driver. which is already, you know, you have to be a hero to work the night shift. so the jake lockley aspect, imagine him hanging on the set of taxi. full moon? demigod. can raise the dead and all. he's basically a The Mummy. in between? he does hero stuff, backed with doomtech and starktech probably won in lawsuits for wreacked cabs. or stolen during this six episode event. doomtech being starktech and ultron tech plus a little witchypoo.

As a long time Moon Knight fan, I was looking forward to the upcoming tv series, but after WandaVision and Falcon and Winter Soldier, not so much. If Disney sticks to the formula of the previous shows, Ethan Hawke will be yet another sympathetic villain who is the real hero and Moon Knight will be made out to be a jerk.

Agatha certainly is not sympathetic in the least, so that leaves 1 out of 2 series you've listed that fit that description. Been a fan of Moon Knight since I first saw him in the video game Web of Shadows. Been reading his books every since and the only run I haven't liked is Bendis. Also Moon Knight kind of is a combo of Punisher and Batman but his stories are like a combination of supernatural monster murder mysteries and something similar to the psychological horror of Shutter Island.

Moon Knight is my favorite character of all time. I have been waiting my whole life for him to join the MCU and I can't believe it's actually happening. More importantly, I can't wait to share his awesomeness with the world. Great video!

I think that the series need to keep it ambiguous. We shouldn't know for sure if those things that moon knight sees and hear are real or not. If his fighting skills are derived from the moon or the combination of tech, training and "mental illness". I remember the first time I read Moon Knight and I was blown away. Even in the more "trippy" stories, we couldn't know for sure if those things were really happening or if that was his imagination/interpretation of real events.

Just to be clear, bucky barnes had mandated therapy not voluntary but i think he'd say it helped him along with other things and himself l, i love this video though?

Goodness, how many marvel characters have multiple "voices" in their head Be they made up (like moon knight), whole counsels in their head (hulk) and, well, whatever is going on with legion (X-Men) And these are the ones I can remember.

I don't think i even knew Moon Knight existed until maybe about 2 years ago from randomly scrolling instgram... And I would have thought of myself as fairly knowledge on superheroes.

FYI The technical terms for every mode of Moon Knight's truncheon are a bo staff, Kali sticks, and nunchucks, which I didn't know it could become.

Well seems as though we might end up getting a Echo and Moon Knight relationship. Since now it’s confirmed that she will make her first appearance in Hawkeye which comes out right before moon Knight does. Plus she will be getting her own show. The next coming years are gonna be so epic

yeah, some runs address this. ellis's run says that marc's d.i.d. isn't actually d.i.d. but instead severe brain injury he suffered when he was resurrected (and also something that just apparently happens when you become an avatar of khonshu), while lemire's run re-imagines a bit of his past and has marc develop d.i.d. at a young age.

I'm hoping that season 2 of Moon Knight follows The Bottom storyline using the Jake Lockley persona as the main perspective of the story.

I think the reason Kanshu won't let him die and keeps messing up his mind more and more is because if he can break his mind, he can re shape it into a perfect obedient slave to his will. As youve show, there are times when Mark spector has gone against kanshus will and formed rifts between them, but what if kanshu managed to eliminate the mark spector part of his mind along with the other two, then all you would have left is a perfect obedient soldier, Moon Knight.

It's such a complex topic, and it's probably so easy to fuck it up. Like those horror movies that treat that disorder as "oooh he turns into other people". I'm guessing they're going to go for a more grounded approach.
