This is my all time favorite song by Stevie Wonder, so when I came across this video I was curious to hear how good or how bad of a job the singer will do. Well she does an amazing job..... Of course Stevie's version is still number 1 in my book but I will purchase her version and listen to it immediately after Stevie's version. The piano player was great too!!!

I think all Stevie Wonder's fans should unite and ask Spike Lee (or another director) make a full-length film about Stevie Wonder. It is so difficult to surf KZread and find high-quality, decent videos filmed professionally...One of the greatest geniuses of American music and poetry (in my opinion, The Greatest), Stevie Wonder is not getting any younger...We don't want to lose this amazing genius' records...Every time he appears on stage, each and every musician - all of them together - rise (actually, jump on their feet) and applaud incessantly! They recognize his immense talent; and yet there are no films or even DVD-s of Stevie Wonder. Isn't it sad?

Moon blue, rivers of love you shine, Bathe me in light sublime Flood me with all your glowing heart can give Moon blue, memories bind like chains When will you come again I wait in darkness just for your bright to beam 'Cause I'm not afraid of the consequence Of being in love with you And I'd rather be alone some nights Awaiting your full hue For though the sun makes bright the day My world is dark when there's no you You light my skies and make dark night bright day, Moon blue Moon blue, your beauty's seen by all, the yearning of your call Travels the world and then makes home my soul Moon blue, lift me to starry heights, I long to live within your light Solace of mind, my heart is yours for always 'Cause I'm not afraid of the consequence Of being in love with you And I'd rather be alone some nights Awaiting your full hue For though the sun makes bright the day My world is dark when there's no you You light my skies and make dark night bright day, Moon blue

  • @michaeltaubenhaus6032

With all due respect, may I point out that Yaniv is not only a musician but also a composer, therefore it's only natural that he put his own touch to the cover version. Nevertheless, I do understand your criticism Ashleigh, even though I beg to differ as I was extremely moved by the rendition. PS. The fact that Yaniv is a distant cousin doesn't have any influence whatsoever, on my objectivity.

Beautiful singing, Beautiful voice. One critique you are an amazing singer/vocalist but I feel like you are trying to impress instead of getting lost in the song itself. I would love to hear you sing it minimally, raw, pure. I want to hear you sing it like you are singing it to someone rather than an entire room full of people.Still you are an amazing vocalist.

I am sure that what am going to say might be misunderstood, however I am going to say it. The criticism I have is not for the singer nor the pianist. It is for the producer. The singer is over singing and the player is over playing. I realize that this is their version on this song, and embellishment "extra" is what this is about. However I still think they missed the mark. If I had been the producer I would have made them sing and play the song with as little variance from the song for at least the first verse and chorus, because. In the first place just the fact that someone besides Stevie Wonder is preforming it is enough. Also this song is not a Flashy show off song, its smooth dark and mellow. So shouldn't the instruments (voice included) go there too? After the first verse and chorus is when the show could begin. I realize that most people will think I'm a nut, but does anyone else hear what I am saying? P.S. These two people are extremely talented.

Ashleigh Chaddock I Agree. People cover songs these days without "feeling" the song they're performing. Most of the time I bet it doesn't even occur to them because they are not natural musicians. They are people that can hold a note and play a song close to the original. which is their goal. They miss the point entirely. Happens all the time.

Totally disagree with your comment that the singer is over embellishing. The tempo is a wee fast for my taste, and for that reason, the singer couldn't over sing if she wanted to. She stays very close to the melody. Now, I don't know what that thing is on her head, but her singing is just fine.

I really do know what you're saying I would say that most folk who attempts the type of song are always of the mark. It's as though they are either affraid to go there with it or simply can't go there. Not only songs by stevie but other real vocalist. I'm with you all the way on this
