Daemon is supposedly in his thirties, but he can't live eternally and people cannot expect him to hold the realm together until Daenerys is born (if you think she's a great ruler then you're wrong btw). Maybe he woul've ensured a stable reign for his brother and established the power and the majesty of his house, yet you never know what your offspring will be capable of. That's exactly what happened with the Old King, Jaehaerys I.

@@daniyalnaqvi2569 yes, you're correct. Although I would love a wild twist of Daemon living agelessly forever...the dragons still being alive would be better candidates. Hopefully we are given the details regarding Daenerys' eggs. In a way, I think I'd feel a little less disappointed about what happened to Danny's babies with an origin background. The conflicting theories are taking me out. I saw Drogon, Rhaegal, and Viserion-were supposed to descend from Dreamfyre, who is the only adult female dragon noted in the book to have laid eggs (that egg part was found, don't hurt me if it's untrue). Then there's the Rhaegal would have been born from an egg laid by Vhagar, Drogon by Balerion, and Viserion by Meraxes theory. Lastly, we have the egg hustler woman named Elissa Farman and I'm not even touching that.

Killing Otto Hightower Would Have Saved Westeros If Daemon had been allowed to kill him while Viserys still lived, it's unlikely that war would've happened. Viserys would not have allowed war to break out, especially with his brother being on the bad side.

This is more relevant today than ever after his recent masterpiece of acting roasting Aegon

I do wish they had played there cards better, if Daemon killed him there wouldn’t be a war. But what makes little sense is why they didn’t have spies in kings landing the way Otto kept an eye on them. Like him having her followed to the brothels. A major thing that would have changed the tides would have been in the books and in upcoming S2 (spoiler) instead of breaking in and k*lling Aegons son, would have been to kidnap both boys. Trading them for taking her crown, and death of her Son. By using them as ransom, to get peacefully she would pardon the usurper for her rightful place, bending the knee, and handing over Aemond. (Maybe make him take the black but ya know he falls 😉) She would be seen as merciful and Aemond would be held to justice. (And the greens would lose respect, and Vhagar) 😊

They had spies and supporters but most of them were killed by greens. Also, the killing of Lucerys a messenger and kin is despicable crime. By just kidnapping Aegon's sons they would show weakness and unwillingness to punish thats the opposite of what Daemon wanted. Still the story is like it is coz it was supposed to reference Empress Matilda and her fight for the throne. We can speculate but still it wasnt meant to have a happy ending.

@@alexpiperhalliwell I fully understand but, it was just my opinion, on a better thought on Daemon just killing Otto. Also kidnapping holding at Dragstone I don’t think in any way is weaker, it’s more terrifying. Since both Sons would be in their hands, and anything could happen to them. But in the book the killing of the child made a lot more people turn against her, since the child was completely innocent. Versus kidnapping them to have them hand over the crown and Aemond. The part of Aemond going to the wall was a joke, the only way to get justice would be for his head, and only then would Vhagar no longer tied to him.

@@siran424 you forget his obvious love of Heleana. You could be right but again the kingdom then suddenly all comes together. Not even Vghar alone could withstand, every dragon at once, every army against him. With both of Aegons heirs, the regret of Lucerys hanging over the greens, and an offer for peace with safe return…Aemond plays at his hard exterior, it’s been said and shown many times. He’s not a “mad” Targaryen, he gets a look from his mom and freezes. So I think you over estimate him. Also if you mean your mistaking kings landing for Driftmark or Dragonstone… probably both kids would be held separately. Also dragonstone is named such because it is basically a fortress not even dragons can take down. Which again even the largest dragon, suddenly surrounded by the fleets, and 7+ dragons, even Dreamfyre and Sunfyre if Aemond went rogue in the way you’re saying. The tragedy of the loss shows they wouldn’t probably continue the war when both children are hidden away, and in an instant be gone. Revenge wouldn’t matter because the dance would just go faster if so.

Can’t be more disagree with you. He was a dreamer and a good man. In a place where you can’t just be that. He searched for compromise and to keep the realm together… big mistake to let daemon far from him but daemon didn’t Make it harder to banish him. « The heir for a day » stealing a dragon egg… toying with his brother’s heir and daugther… During his reign there is no huge battle, no war (other that the one in the Step stones)… he is, by all regard a decent king. They now just aren't partaking in active politics, but are exercising their soft power to the fullest. But even that will end soon enough due to Euron Greyjoy and the Hightowers will show their cars in winds of winter...

No , definetely not . After Daemon died & Aegon killed Rhaenyra all of Daemon's kids ( except Vizzy ) were Aegon's captives and he never harmed them . Alicent and his small council said that it would be better if he ordered the kids' execution but he refused and said " I won't judge children becuse of their parents' crimes "

Otto always felt Daemon was a killer not a thinker. It may have been true. Daemon never really denied himself anything he wanted. Viserys was a weak king who was manipulated by Otto by a skirt. The oldest trick in the book. If he had married her to Daemon before having kids himself and out her on the throne while he was alive, the war could have been avoided. Daemon would have a say but ahe would have made the decisions. The people would habe seen she was capable and a good ruler. But he was about passing his name on directly from him. He never should have married her best friend. He basically screwed his daughter over again and again putting her into an impossible situation of his own making. And he KNEW it. He was not a good king loke they said or his succession would have been clear.

Daemon never love otto since the beginning, Daemon already saw what otto what was trying to do and that why Daemon never like him. Daemon always knew otto wanted to put his blood on the throne.

Then none of this would have happened and Rhanaerya would fulfilled her fathers wish of being the rightful heir to the throne

I hope in the show daemon kills otto since they dont want to follow the books lore either. In general i think this directior and team has done an absolutely terrible job at representing this time and era of the lore. It has always felt like a PG version of game of thrones not enoigh blood and gore when daemon killed the crab feeder it disnt show that either its just a really crap job done the reason i and everyone lieks it is because its a game of thrones prequel and sometimes you just gotta take what u can get or maybe some people dont mind the less gore and fighting but it makes me worried for this season 2 because theres supposed to be many brutal battles

Viserys either shouldn't have had that second marriage with Alicent or should have made Daemon his hand since he did trust him even after the brotherly fights. Rhanera really got stripped of her right but Hightower politics.. maybe (just maybe) Viserys coulda done a bit more to ensure she gets the theone after hia death even after announcing that she's his heir. Considering the show, I'm with team blacks all day. Team green are c*nts.

Daemon could get the job done if Rhaenyra wasn't such an emo girl.
