Monwana Lodge is a beacon of sustainability, achieving its founders' dream of integrating eco-friendly practices into its core operations.
This was made possible by the installation of an extensive solar system, which not only reduces the lodge's reliance on non-renewable resources but mitigates its environmental impact.
Furthermore, a cutting-edge water-based heating and cooling reticulation system allowed us to stray away from the norm and greatly reduce our consumption, while still ensuring our guests enjoy luxurious amenities.
Apart from being power-conscious, we also took the necessary means to reduce water wastage. A combination of rainwater and borehole water is used throughout the property - this water is filtered through a reverse osmosis machine to ensure that every tap on the property has clean filtered water, that amongst others, allows us to move away from the use of single-use plastic bottles.
Our sewage management system utilises good bacteria to clean and repurpose our grey water. The effluent water is then sent to the watering hole in front of the lodge, which allows our guests to enjoy phenomenal game viewing from the comfort of their private suites.
These comprehensive efforts not only minimise Monwana’s ecological footprint but underscore its commitment to eco-conscious operations, thus making Monwana the prime example of eco-tourism within nature.
