To anyone that’s planning on visiting, try to avoid driving on highway 163, which is the road that leads here, after dark. In the 2 nights I was there we came across 2 drunk driving accidents, 1 of which was pretty bad. We talked to a local at the scene who said that it’s a problem there and that her sister had been killed just a few weeks prior. Don’t take this as me saying you should not visit, cause it is a must see place that I will return to. You should be fine driving in the day time, just be aware and careful at night especially on weekends.

Result of stubborn sandstone that refused to erode while the rest of the earth around it eroded. It's why we have those really unique shapes, the water and ice also helped carve out some of the distinctive monuments.

Monument Valley is located on the Arizona side. However, you can view it coming from the Utah side is where people take most pictures that shows a straight highway pointing to Monument Valley. On the Utah side, there's a BLM called Valley of Gods which is worth the visit as well. Also check out the Mexican Hat on the Utah side.

Love your videos. It’s so nice that you can experience places with your dad. Monument valley is one of those magical places in the world that you have to be there to really soak it in. It’s just such a spiritual place and by being there it’s like you can feel the energy in the history of the people that have lived there for thousands of years. One of my favorite places in the world. Next time make sure you get some fry bread. Such a simple food, yet it’s just so darn good.

In relation to the Navajo code talkers, there’s a Burger King in Kayenta about 30 minutes south of here that has an excellent exhibit with a lot of American and Japanese ww2 artifacts. They have things like mortar shells, grenades, and regimental flags on display. It’s really well done, and yes it’s actually inside the Burger King.
