I absolutely love this man. I had the pleasure on numerous occassions to attend his demonstrations. So glad i did. I had a big idx whod been abused by a previous owner and the poor lad would shake and was terrified of men. I started to use montys methods ans wow what a change in about 10mins. He trusted me and i loved him with all my heart. We had 12 happy years together. He was always warey of men because a man abused him. But the love and respect we had for each other was immeasurable. This was all thanks to monty!!

I love the way this man works with horses. I love the whole idea of gentling the animal vs breaking the animal. My uncle was a horse trainer who had been advocating (professionally) the gentling approach since he got out of the army after WW2. He lived in another state so I rarely got to see him work, but I was visiting once for a week when I was about ten, and he was working with a three year old that had never gotten more training than it took to get her from the stable to the field and vice versa. Watching Mr. Robert work looks so much like what I saw my uncle was doing back in the 60s and 70s it amazes me. My Uncle Clyde used to say he loved working in the round pen, because horses half think with their feet, they respect a horse that can keep up with them as they run, and gains more respect for the horse that can make them run~ keeping the pressure on them. He would half smile then say, "of course I can keep right up with him, I barely need to walk a couple hundred feet, maybe, in the center of the circle while he understands he's just run a mile and a half, good thing horses don't understand geometry."

The subtitles are hilarious. Some poor algorithm trying to translate phonetically.
