Metro is really cultured for finding this one.

I remember the beginning of the '80th when I first saw Monty Pithon on video tapes! It was unbelievable and my husband and I instantly loved them. Now in 2023 I still love them and consider that their parodies are of great actuality!

I love this sketch, even if it does come across as a re-write of The Lumberjack Sketch. I mean, the naming of the currencies then turning to song, it's the same format.

That's because it is spoofing a then existing TV-show. Just because it has lost the context for the viewer doesn't mean it's not part of the sketch.

@@theholk All you have to do is find the youtube vid where Eric himself, the writer of the sketch and the song, talks about this...which is why I'm here. He states emphatically that The Money Show really was a show on Brit TV at the time. So, there's that.
