Just had the pleasure of meeting Mr Monty Alexander on a flight from Tokyo to Newark today on my United Airlines flight.(Crew member) What a nice guy. A real pleasure to talk too. And a real gentleman. It was interesting too look up and read his bio when i got home and listening to this track as I type. He certainly has had and continues to have a great life. I hope to see him perform live in the NYC area in the near future.

I've been following Monty since his Love and Sunshine LP back in the 70's but this clip has a special meaning for me. 1:07:45 "I don't know anymore songs" and he plays Dr. Billy Taylor's I wish I knew How It Felt To Be Free. I heard this when I was 8 years old performed by Dr. Taylor and knew then, I wanted to play piano like that. Well X number of years, I'm still at it. Thank you for the post.

I wish KZread had a rule that in order to post a video like this, you need to accurately identify all the musicians/instruments.

Great concert, but one of the piano mics has a loose connection by the sound of it - there's a fluttering noise that gets very pronounced towards the end.

Who's that on bass guitar?
Старик разговаривает роялем. Очень крут!
Bass Drum mix is awful 😢
