Montgomery Bus Boycott 1955

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

The Montgomery Bus Boycott, a seminal event in the U.S. Civil Rights Movement, was a political and social protest campaign against the policy of racial segregation on the public transit system of Montgomery, Alabama. The campaign lasted from December 1, 1955-when Rosa Parks, an African American woman, was arrested for refusing to surrender her seat to a white person-to December 20, 1956, when a federal ruling, Browder v. Gayle, took effect, and led to a United States Supreme Court decision that declared the Alabama and Montgomery laws requiring segregated buses to be unconstitutional.[1] Many important figures in the Civil Rights Movement took part in the boycott, including Reverend Martin Luther King, Jr. and Ralph Abernathy.

You can't forget Jo Ann Robinson, she is the one who actually kick-started the actual boycott. Bless all those who wouldn't be guided by fear but by courage and defiance instead.

Ms. Parks is an hero She deserves to be Remembered. 65 years today December 1st 1955 Rosa Parks @ age 42 was arrested for refusing giving up her seat for a white man She did the right thing & Ms. Parks didn't deserved this .It broke my 💔 seeing Whites hating blacks I'm sick of the racist white people mistreating blacks like they're nothing. I look up to Rosa Parks as one of my favorite females in history besides Michelle Obama, Kamala Harris, Myrlie Evers, & Coretta Scott King

The video says Rosa Parks was a seamstress but, she also was employed by the NAACP for at least 10 yrs. prior. In other words, truth be told, she wasn’t some sort of vigilante some would have you believe, not to lessen that her actions became a rallying point for change welcomed by both whites and blacks as society was changing with the times.

No such law ever existed in Britain. In fact a seat was reserved from around the 1950s right at the very front of the bus for the black man so he could drive the dyam ting. BLACK LIVES MATTER
