Montana of 300: Fetty Wap Didn't Fall Off, His Label Stopped Pushing Him (Part 5)

Part 6: • Montana of 300 on Figh...
Part 4: • Montana of 300 on Bein...
Part 1: • Montana of 300 on How ...
--------
In this clip, Montana of 300 talks about working on the set of the hit television series, "Empire" with Terrance Howard and Petey Pablo. He also talks about the release of "Fire in the Church" with Kevin Gates, the critical acclaim that he received and charting success that followed. He goes on to attribute his next album release dates to May 20th, in order to commemorate the fist time that ever charted.
As the conversation continues, he shares details about getting contract offers from major record labels after the success of "Fire in the Church" and declining the partnerships in lieu remaining independent. Lastly, he compares the independent path that he chose to Fetty Fap's road to success as a "signed" artist.

Rappers have a short-term expiration date. If they come out with something that's sounds current and not what people are used to, people claim they're "Trend Riding". If it sounds like their past music....then they say it sounds "Old and Dated" Also. people don't WANT to find new music, they just want to be TOLD what's poppin. That's why they think songs constantly being played are hits.

I feel that! I said the same thing about Spice 1 when Jive went away. Them first few albums after Jive were good. Granted! His best work was while he was on Jive. But I still bought albums he released after Jive that I really liked like Heartbreak Hotel to name a few. Im not a huge fan of the joint ventures with random artist here and there. But even some of those were decent enough to add to my Spiceberg catalog.
