Montacute House
Ойын-сауық
Montacute House is a magnificent, glittering mansion, built in the late 16th century for Sir Edward Phelips. There are many renaissance features, and the Long Gallery, the longest of its kind in England, displays over 60 of the finest Tudor and Elizabethan portraits from the National Portrait Gallery collection.

That's fascinating KY Girl, I am a descendant of the Burts of Montacute. There is a John Burt on a plaque in Montacute House. Also, a Cox ancestor had a Phelips as executor of his will.

Nice editing
Thank you, I managed to translate you comment, thanks so much...
I disagree with your vague assumption, as plenty of historical homes are on the National Historic Places Register, and Historic American Buildings Survey (United States Department of the Interior, for Archives at the Library of Congress). Two fine examples include the Cliffwalk community (Newport, Rhode Island), with plenty of historic mansions preserved, and lovingly cared for, and St. Gabriel the Archangel Catholic Church (1887, Chicago, IL), which is still in use as church and school today.
