Monsters explained: 1-The Tlahuelpuchi: female witch-vampires of nahua cultures myths from Central America and Mexico. They love to drink the blood of the newborn children and turn into zopilotes (buzzards) and turkeys to enter the houses and attack the babies biting their heads or necks. Repelled by metal, crosses and amulets. 2-La Lechuza (also known as La Chorca) is another female avian vampire like the Tlahuelpuchi but they transform into barn owl (lechuza in spanish) humanoids to hunt, the song the reaper sings ("la lechuza, la lechuza hace shh") is a nursery rhyme that imitates the barn owl's sound written to keep kids quiet. There are still some reports and sightings of this blood-thirsty vampires in modern times in Mexico, Guatemala, Honduras and El Salvador (my country) even during the lockdown. Sadly, this believing makes some people in Mexico to kill real barn owls cuz they think those poor creatures are shape-shifting vampires. 3-El Silbón (The Whistler): a very tall killer spectre from the Venezuelan countryside llanero lore. Legend says he killed his father in revenge to eat him, his grandfather punished him and covered his open wounds with ají (chili pepper seed powder), gave him to the dogs to be killed and cursed him for the afterlife. Now he carries his father's bones in a sack and loves to rip the spines and bones of whoever roam in the countryside at night. He whistles a creepy tune in scale, that's his trademark, if you hear his whistle close, he's far away from you but if you hear it coming from far away, El Silbón is right behind you...

At the very least, I know who each of them are.. surprised El Cucuy didn’t show up, but then again he had a haunted house in the past so that justifies his absence.

Thank u for this comment, at first I couldn't distinguish the first two and thought they were both La Lechusa, and I thought El Silbon was just El Coco or El Cucuy. I'm Mexican American but learn more about Hispanic horror from HHN than my own family lol. Very much just know Coco, La Llorona, and El Chupacabra. Very cool to see this maze bring to light lesser known legends.

Also I feel Hispanic stories constantly overlap thanks to retellings because the whole El Silbon is close by if his whistling sounds far is familiar to me because I was always told that if I hear La Llorona from far away, she's right behind me.

Yay!! I've been waiting to see the Hollywood Houses! Except being a Brit over the pond, I don't know these monsters or their legends at all, (although the bird one made me think of a Harpi) so who I was seeing in this house, please?

Tlahuelpuchi, La Lechuza and El Silbón are the three monsters in the house. Tlahuelpuchi looks like a vulture and La Lechuza looks like an owl, so they're easy to confuse for one another. El Silbón is the demented cowboy who carries a sack full of his father's bones. That's why you walk through the giant sack at the end.

@@ralelunar :-) Thankyou, I just gave them all a Google to read their legends and El Silbón most stood out to me for his crazy backstory! Plus now I can rewatch this with a better appreciation of the monsters.🙂

Does this mean you didn't get to film Orlando's houses? 😢

No...the only time filming in Orlando HHN is allowed is during some of the cast/media preview nights. If you film without precision you can get kicked out.
