Wish you would do more relevant films from non-exotic locations. Most people cannot afford once in a lifetime vacations limit to specific 'demographics'. Something practical but still about 'fishing'. Thank you for your format. I've learned so much from the simple stuff I can do locally, but the dream trips are far out of my reach. Thank you again.

For fly fishing I recommend you use a knotable steel wire like the one Scientific Anglers makes: scientificanglers.com/product/absolute-predator-7x7-knottable-wire/ The 25lb wire will work well and easy to tie flies on with

I wonder how many people tune into The New Fly Fisher to see a video primarily about a spin fishing trip. It was a good promo for Tazin Lake Lodge. Beautiful footage but not what I am looking for from The New Fly Fisher. This could have been a great place to show the effectiveness of sinking lines for those trout. The two hosts of this video are delightful but the fish treatment, use of treble hooks and focus on spin fishing was not what I was hoping to see when I saw the video was available.

Canada is incredible!🇨🇦🍁❤️🤘 I’m getting ready to go up to Atikokan here in a few weeks to catch some of the biggest fish of my life, on both spin and fly rod. Keep up the great Content!

Thanks for your feedback. In this show, Caitlyn is not a fly fisher (still learning) so she used the spinning gear and lures the lodge guides recommended. Jenna used flies in this show and did a comparison between lures and flies to help everyone understand the similarities and differences. Usually, our shows are 100% fly oriented but in this video we wanted to do a balance between the two. Can understand your concerns and certainly we don't endorse the use of treble hooks. Magnificent fishing but please don't be using pike gags when unhooking pike. Something from the dark ages which not seen in the UK since the 1970s. Plenty of good you tube videos on how to safely un hook pike without such ironmongery.
