Ogopogo surprisingly isn't the only water dwelling beast we have up here in Canada.
Such an interesting, diverse range of beasts presented! But yet again, I gotta ask who decided bunyip was the most outrageous thing in Australia? “It’s big and eats people and no one ever gets a good look at it” VS “A beaver-duck that lays eggs, has poison and glows in the dark”. 😂
I love how you explore so many different cultures and countries to find the creatures/beings/spirits featured in your videos. For this one, I was so excited to see the Kelpie mentioned in this video. It's one of my favorite Celtic-based folklore spirits. 😁And who doesn't love a shout-out to Nessie? Speaking of water-based creatures, I would love to see a video dedicated to mermaids. Their depictions vary across cultures and I would love to see you do a deep-dive into them!

Me too! I don't really know why, but the Kelpie is my favorite crytid, especially of water cryptids.
If anyone has watched the show River Monsters you will know that these myths are slightly on point due to some bodies of water actually having things in them like giant catfish that can eat people.

Yeah I showed my son a washed up fish that was almost as big as me and he said, I'm never going in the water again lol he says that often but we always end up back at the beaches.
Since your going to do a follow up on Nessie. Here's some info that you might want to add. I don't know if your aware of this but, quite recently one scientist did DNA tests on the Loch and the results were very interesting. They picked up DNA from natural wildlife like eels, fish, etc.. But 20% of the DNA came back as unknown! Which suggests there is a undiscovered species living down there. I thought you might be interested in that, that is if you didn't hear about it already.
@chojinkid

nope! all the DNA they've found is totally known, the 20% unknown is just BS someone added later just to keep the mistery going, the Nessie case is closed, there's no Nessie.
Great video! Love aquatic monsters
River monsters is where the real monsters are show which some are inspiration to every legends
What about Chessie, the Chesapeake bay creature , I've see it, well part of anyway, size from what I saw about the girth of a telephone pole, dark brown color, smooth skin n 19:04 o scales , like a giant eel, it swims up and down not side to side like snake's movement, displaced a lot of water too as it moves. Why it hasn't been found dead washed up on a shore somewhere I think it just sinks to the bottom and crabs and other animals eat it all up, like shark's made of cartilage so no skeletons to be found, in lives in caves or nests it makes in the soft mud and clay on the banks of the bay. And to add there where four people on my sailboat when we all saw something that day back in 1997 in the inlet to the South River.
Excellent video, I thoroughly enjoyed this.😊❤
Absolutely LOVE these types of stories!🥰☺️
All you do is win, win, win, no matter what 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 I especially love all the references you provide. Best kind of rabbit hole. Thanks for doing such good work!
Thank you for all the information on these creatures
I'm watching this wonderful video again in response to MU"s request..... still excellent!😘🌹💜🌍
Watching this video after having a conversation last week about the deepness/murkiness of lakes comes full circle
What about a video about the Ramayana’s villain King Ravana? I was interested in looking in more via your channel
It is fascinating how diverse and in the same time similar river/lake-monsters all around the world can be.
Ahuizotl: I Receive: Lunch You Receive: A One-Way Ticket to a Beautiful Afterlife
Nice video. Water hags sound like a great video idea.
It’s perfect! Speaking of which, at 17:28, that kappa is so cute and adorable that I just wanna hug it! ❤😍🥰
Nice Video
The Loch Ness Monster isn't attacking people, it's just asking for them Tree Fiddy
I’d love to see a full video on water hags, or on women associated with water in general.
Great video bro and wow was amazing to hear some one talk about Ginny green teeth in the tree, I live close to the river tees 😄
Great video.
❤🤍💙 all your videos mate👍
Saint Columba's monster encounter takes place in River Ness and not Loch Ness, that pretty much proves that all the Loch Ness sightings were not related to the creature seen by Columba, in a few words they were BS
@Trebelsi

Aren't the river ness and loch ness the same thing
@chojinkid

@@Trebelsi not at all, one is a small river at the entrance of Inverness, the Loch is a large lake that goes from Fort Augustus to Inverness, but AFAIK they are not connected
Very entertaining tales!
Running... Always running to see what you come up.
Well done. We have a few river and lakes monsters in sweden and Scandinavia too, if you are interested.
What about Nixie/Nokk from Norse mythology ?
Awesome video!! My brother Logan's buddy Spencer Huckabee was wondering if you'd make a video about the Ozark Howler since his dad John saw one in Arkansas last fall
Those Aztecs licked way too many frogs xD
I believe My Little Pony Friendship Is Magic had a recurring character who was based on Ahuizotl. In this case the creature was the arch nemesis of the adventurer Derring-Do.
This Earth is billions of years old! There's no telling what's here!!
17:51 OK :D
2:26 Actually it was the River Ness where Columba had his encounter.
5:10 easily explained, it's a displacer beast
I love reading up about cryptids and pondering what might be the reason the myth originated. I think with lots of civilizations living by water, it only makes sense that many of them were created by adults to keep their children away from water. Young children have a high chance of drowning in bodies of water, especially turbulent or murky ones. Children don't tend to listen if you tell them not to do something, but if you tell them a MONSTER will eat them if they go near the water, they probably will be VERY unlikely to go near the water. Thus a cryptid is born. I personally think most crytids were created to protect children from doing things that could get them hurt or killed.
Any water monster would be fine
I used to hear stories of a lake monster that emerged from Meyers lake, canton Ohio. It stopped in the road and blocked traffic. Police and a holy man were called. I was told it made the newspaper’s at the time. Had to be early to mid last century
Ogopogo sounds like Hoogah Boogah
I feel like alot of these Sea/River monsters are Large Catfish/Enormous Sturgeon and possibly even Stingray's that just so happen to come to the surface and people just catch a glimpse of their size
@dextermorgan1

Except catfish and other large fish don't resemble these creatures. At all. Enough people, who don't know each other, have seen these things, and given the same basic description. That's called circumstantial evidence. It's good enough to put someone in prison for life so it's good enough for me. 😊
Manapogo of lake Manitoba is another one.
Oh-Kah-Nah-Gahn is how you pronounce Okanagan.
Do Finnish mythology please!

A couple of Expeditions to capture it on film both failed The Japanese one in the 60s ended up with super grainy film The second in the 80s ended in a missed Chance to film because the creature submerged Then in the 90s a couple did take photos of it but the 35mm film was underexposed

Hello. Can you please make a video about the hero of Azerbaijani folklore - Koroglu?
Repel it with flatulence !!
Until a film , video or photo surfaces which clearly shows beyond all reasonable doubt that these creatures really exist l will (after years of believing ) will be of the opinion that they don't exist . No image yet taken has clearly shown that they truly exist although it would be fascinating if they did .
Only in American that have to make up something because some other country has one and they can't get it in there normal way by just taken it. So there make it up such as Scotland nessy and give it a really dumb name such as the champ. America seriously needs a complete reset and started fresh.
